Rifle Field Testing – Real-World Performance

Rifle Field Testing at Chattahoochee Munitions documents real-world hunting demonstrations and cartridge performance evaluations. Our videos feature 458 SOCOM XL, 375 Raptor, 8.6 Blackout, and 22 ARC under actual field conditions.

458 SOCOM XL Rifle Field Testing

Our 458 SOCOM XL field testing features a nighttime thermal hog hunt at 96 yards using a 650gr Maker REX projectile fired from a 12.5-inch CM7S bolt-action platform.

The footage captures the hunt and follows with a close examination of the resulting wound channel, including its substantial opening. This real-world demonstration documents the observed terminal effects of the heavy projectile under actual hunting conditions.

Explore the cartridge, ammunition, and compatible platforms in Terminal 458.

375 RAPTOR

Our 375 Raptor rifle field testing documents real-world hunting performance with both supersonic and heavy subsonic Maker projectiles. These demonstrations include thermal hog hunting and daytime deer hunting, with recorded shooting distances, observed terminal effects, and wound examinations. Featured testing includes the 190gr Maker T-REX supersonic projectile at 129 yards and the 400gr Maker REX subsonic projectile during hog and deer hunts at 109 yards. Footage captures immediate animal reactions, including drops on impact, along with examinations of entrance and exit wounds where available. Explore our complete cartridge information, compatible CM7S and CM10 platforms, ammunition, and technical guides in The Raptor Paddock.

8.6 BLACKOUT

Our 8.6 Blackout rifle field testing documents real-world hunting performance with the heavy 350gr Maker REX projectile. These demonstrations capture both daytime and nighttime hunting conditions, providing different perspectives on projectile behavior and observed terminal effects. The first video features a quartering-away buck at 50 yards that drops immediately upon impact, followed by an examination of the recovered, expanded projectile. The second captures a nighttime coyote hunt at 106 yards, where the animal travels approximately 50 yards after impact before dropping. Together, the videos document different outcomes under actual field conditions. Explore 8.6 Blackout cartridge information, compatible platforms, subsonic ammunition considerations, and technical guides in Area 8.6.

22 ARC

Our 22 ARC field testing includes a long-range thermal coyote hunt at a measured distance of 603 yards. Recorded in an open cattle pasture, the footage documents an extended-range engagement under actual predator-hunting conditions.

The thermal video captures the shot and the coyote dropping immediately upon impact. This demonstration provides a real-world example of observed 22 ARC performance beyond 600 yards, documenting both the shooting distance and the animal’s reaction.

Explore the cartridge, compatible CM7S and CM15 platforms, and technical information in Flight Deck 22.

Many of our field-testing demonstrations feature expanding projectiles manufactured by Maker Bullets, including the REX and T-REX projectile families. These videos document observed performance under actual hunting conditions.
