CM 6.5 Grendel

Chattahoochee Munitions manufactures the CM15 6.5 Grendel AR, a complete factory AR15-pattern semi-automatic rifle offered with 16, 18, or 20-inch barrels, each in Black Tungsten, Cobalt Kinetics Green, or FDE Metallic Cerakote. Every CM15 6.5 Grendel uses a straight-fluted 416R stainless barrel with a 1:8 twist in E100 Blackout Cerakote, 7075-T6 billet receivers, a Superlative Arms adjustable gas block, and a TriggerTech AR15 Duty trigger.

A 6.5 Grendel AR puts efficient, high-ballistic-coefficient 6.5mm bullets in an AR15-sized rifle, with more reach and energy than 5.56 NATO and mild recoil. The finish changes only the color; every rifle of a given length shares the same mechanical specifications. See the full lineup in Grendel’s Lair, start with the 6.5 Grendel guide, and compare lengths in the 6.5 Grendel barrel length comparison.

6.5 Grendel AR Configurations

Chattahoochee Munitions manufactures the CM15 6.5 Grendel AR in 16, 18, and 20-inch configurations, plus a 16-inch CM15 6.5 Grendel upper. Cobalt Kinetics Green is one of the Cerakote finish colors; Chattahoochee Munitions manufactures every CM15.

Choose 16 inches for the lightest, handiest rifle, 18 inches as an all-around hunting length, and 20 inches for the most velocity at longer range.

What twist rate does the CM15 6.5 Grendel use?

A 1:8 twist, which stabilizes the common range of 6.5 Grendel bullets from light predator loads to heavier hunting bullets.

What suppressor should I use?

A flow-through suppressor rated for 6.5 Grendel, because the CM15 is gas operated and a flow-through design limits back pressure. For hunting setups, read 6.5 Grendel for coyotes and hogs.
