CM7S 6mm ARC Short Barreled Action — 12.5-Inch Configuration

The 6mm ARC short barreled action from Chattahoochee Munitions combines the CM7S bolt action with a 12.5-inch barrel. This compact configuration is part of the Overwatch 6 family, which centers on supersonic precision shooting and predator-hunting applications.

The CM7S uses a Remington 700 footprint, three locking lugs and a 60-degree bolt throw. An integrated recoil lug and pinned 20 MOA Picatinny rail are standard features. The barrel uses 416R stainless steel, 5R rifling and a 1:7 twist.

A Compact Alternative to the 18-Inch Configuration

The 12.5-inch barrel distinguishes this product from the 18-inch CM7S barreled action. Its listed barreled-action weight is 57.4 oz, approximately 3.59 lb, compared with 65.31 oz for the 18-inch configuration.

CM7S Action Features

The action is designed to Chattahoochee Munitions specifications. Its one-piece, spiral-fluted bolt has a .718-inch body diameter, an M16-style extractor and an oversized bolt knob.

The CM7S also incorporates wire EDM raceways, a side bolt-stop release and tool-less fire-control removal. A full PVD coating provides the action’s protective surface finish.

The recoil lug is integrated into the action. The pinned 20 MOA rail provides the optics-mounting interface, while the .062-inch firing pin accommodates small-rifle-primer brass.

12.5-Inch Barrel Specifications

The barrel is manufactured in collaboration with Mos-Tek using 416R stainless steel with 5R rifling. The confirmed twist rate is 1:7, and the exterior finish is E100 Blackout Cerakote.

A shouldered crown and 5/8×24 muzzle threads complete the barrel specifications. The muzzle-thread designation identifies the interface; compatibility with a muzzle device or suppressor also depends on that manufacturer’s requirements.

Compatibility and Supplied Configuration

This 6mm ARC short barreled action is supplied as a barreled action rather than a complete firearm. The CM7S uses a Remington 700 footprint and accepts compatible Remington 700-style triggers. Trigger pins are included.

Confirm compatibility with the specific stock, chassis, trigger and bottom metal under consideration. A shared footprint designation does not establish compatibility with every component marketed for Remington 700-pattern actions.

CM7S Magazine Requirements

The bolt-action CM7S uses an AICS-pattern magazine. It does not use the AR15-pattern magazine supplied for the semi-automatic CM15.

The MDT 6mm ARC AICS magazine is CM’s magazine option for this platform. It provides 10-round capacity in a polymer body. Review the magazine and bottom-metal requirements of the intended configuration.

Suppressor Selection for the Compact CM7S 6mm ARC Short Barreled Action

Chattahoochee Munitions prefers an enclosed, conventional baffle suppressor for the CM7S bolt-action platform. Its manually operated action does not have the gas-operated cycling system found in the CM15.

For the 12.5-inch barrel, confirm that the suppressor manufacturer approves both 6mm ARC and the specific barrel length. The 5/8×24 muzzle threads alone do not establish suppressor suitability.
