CM7S Action: The Foundation of the Platform
The CM7S action is the foundation of this 22 ARC SBR. Chattahoochee Munitions designed the action around the Remington 700 footprint while incorporating the features we wanted in a modern production bolt-action firearm.
A three-lug bolt provides a short 60-degree throw. The one-piece .718-inch bolt body uses an M16-style extractor, while wire EDM-cut raceways provide controlled manufacturing tolerances and smooth bolt travel.
The action incorporates an integrated recoil lug, pinned 20 MOA Picatinny optics rail, .062-inch firing pin, large ejection port, side bolt-stop release, oversized bolt knob, spiral-fluted bolt, and tool-less fire-control removal.
A full PVD coating provides corrosion resistance and smooth operation. At approximately 25 ounces, the CM7S action provides the mechanical foundation for both the SBR and pistol configurations.

12.5-Inch Mos-Tek 22 ARC Barrel
At the center of the 22 ARC SBR is a 12.5-inch Mos-Tek barrel manufactured from 416R stainless steel. The barrel uses 5R rifling and the 1:8 twist rate specified by Chattahoochee Munitions for our 22 ARC barrels.
The 12.5-inch barrel is the defining dimensional difference between this compact CM7S and our conventional 18-inch rifles. The shorter barrel reduces overall firearm length and creates a more compact platform, particularly when a suppressor is installed.
The barrel uses a shouldered crown, 1/2×28 muzzle threads, and the Remage barrel-nut mounting system. E100 Blackout Cerakote provides the barrel finish and contrasts with the Black Tungsten chassis and rear assembly.

Suppressing the 12.5-Inch CM7S
The CM7S 22 ARC SBR is suppressor ready with a 1/2×28 threaded muzzle. The 12.5-inch barrel helps control the overall length of the complete firearm after a suppressor is added.
Because the CM7S is manually operated, suppressor selection does not have to account for cycling a gas system. There is no gas block to adjust and no requirement to balance suppressor backpressure against reliable semi-automatic operation.
For this reason, Chattahoochee Munitions generally favors a conventional enclosed suppressor for the CM7S. This differs from our approach to the semi-automatic CM15 22 ARC, where we generally favor a flow-through suppressor to help manage gas and backpressure.
Flight Deck 22 is built around the cartridge’s supersonic performance. A suppressor can substantially reduce muzzle blast, but it cannot eliminate the ballistic crack produced by a projectile traveling above the speed of sound.
The goal when suppressing the 22 ARC SBR is to reduce muzzle signature while retaining the velocity and trajectory characteristics that define the cartridge, not to convert 22 ARC into a subsonic system.
TriggerTech Primary Trigger
The CM7S is equipped with a TriggerTech Remington 700 Primary trigger. Customers can select a flat or curved trigger blade.
The Primary uses TriggerTech’s Frictionless Release Technology and provides an externally adjustable pull-weight range of 1.5 to 4.0 pounds. This gives the compact CM7S the same crisp, adjustable trigger architecture used in our 18-inch CM7S 22 ARC rifles.
Some older CM product photography may show flat triggers equipped with trigger shoes. Current production triggers no longer include those shoes.
CM7 Chassis in Black Tungsten Cerakote
The CM7 chassis provides the structural foundation of the complete 22 ARC SBR or pistol. Machined from billet aluminum and finished in Black Tungsten Cerakote, the chassis integrates the CM7S action, magazine system, grip, support interfaces, and telescoping rear assembly.
The chassis incorporates a flared AICS-pattern magazine well, ambidextrous magazine release, full-length bottom ARCA rail, M-LOK compatibility, integrated QD sling sockets, and a modular rear-interface system. A large trigger guard provides additional clearance for gloved operation.
The pistol-grip interface accepts AR-15 grips that do not use an integrated dovetail. This firearm includes the CM Precision Vertical Crossover Grip.

SBR or Pistol Configuration
Customers can order this 12.5-inch CM7S in one of two configurations. Selecting the 22 ARC SBR equips the firearm with a telescoping buttpad and adjustable cheek riser.
The pistol configuration replaces the buttpad with a telescoping Tailhook brace and adjustable cheek riser.
Because the 12.5-inch firearm equipped with a shoulder stock is a Short Barreled Rifle, the SBR configuration is subject to applicable federal, state, and local requirements and must be transferred through an appropriately licensed dealer.

CM-Vetted 22 ARC AICS Magazine System
The CM7S and CM15 use different magazine architectures. The semi-automatic CM15 uses an AR-15-pattern magazine, while the CM7S chassis is designed around the short-action AICS magazine pattern.
Each complete 22 ARC SBR or pistol includes one 10-round 22 ARC AICS Magazine. CM has tested and selected this MDT polymer magazine for use with complete CM7S 22 ARC firearms equipped with the CM7 chassis.
The magazine allows a maximum cartridge overall length of 2.480 inches, providing additional cartridge-length capacity compared with the dimensional constraints of an AR-15 magazine.
CM’s magazine validation applies to the complete CM7S and CM7 chassis configuration. Although the magazine follows the short-action AICS pattern, magazine fit and feeding can vary with third-party chassis systems and bottom metal and are not guaranteed by Chattahoochee Munitions.

Why does the 12.5-inch CM7S use a 1:8 twist?
Chattahoochee Munitions specifies a 1:8 twist for our 22 ARC barrels. This 12.5-inch configuration uses a Mos-Tek 416R stainless steel barrel with 5R rifling and the same 1:8 twist specification used throughout the CM7S 22 ARC family.
