CM7S 308 Overwatch Rifle
The CM7S 308 Overwatch Rifle combines a compact 16-inch 308 Winchester barrel with CM’s three-lug bolt action, adjustable chassis system and Cobalt Kinetics Green and Coyote field configuration. It is intended for hunting, property management and field positions where a portable rifle, supported shooting capability and adaptable length of pull matter.
At 7 pounds 4 ounces, the rifle remains manageable for field carry while providing the full bottom ARCA rail, M-LOK compatibility and adjustable cheek riser needed to establish a stable shooting position. Its telescoping stock adjusts from a 6.25-inch to 14.25-inch length of pull, allowing the firearm to accommodate different shooters, equipment and shooting positions.
This rifle belongs to District 308, CM’s complete family of 308 Winchester rifles, magazines, ammunition and technical guides.
Mos-Tek 308 Winchester Barrel
The 16-inch barrel is produced through CM’s collaboration with Mos-Tek. It is machined from 416R stainless steel, uses 5R rifling and receives E100 Blackout Cerakote for external protection.
A 1:8 twist supports conventional supersonic 308 Winchester projectile weights and distinguishes this rifle from CM’s specialized 12.5-inch 1:5 twist subsonic configurations. The 5/8×24 muzzle threads accept compatible muzzle devices and appropriately rated 30-caliber suppressor mounts.

CM7S Three-Lug Bolt Action
The CM7S action uses the established Remington 700 footprint while incorporating CM’s preferred features into a complete 308 Winchester action. Its three-lug bolt provides a 60-degree throw, reducing bolt-handle travel and helping the shooter operate the action without unnecessary interference around the optic.
The action and bolt receive a full PVD coating for corrosion resistance and smooth operation. Wire EDM-cut raceways provide controlled tolerances, while the one-piece .718-inch bolt body, M16-style extractor and integrated recoil lug establish the mechanical foundation of the 308 Overwatch Rifle.

TriggerTech Remington 700 Primary Trigger
The CM7S uses a TriggerTech Remington 700 Primary trigger, available with a flat or curved trigger bow. TriggerTech’s Frictionless Release Technology provides a zero-creep break with short overtravel and consistent operation.
Pull weight is externally adjustable from 1.5 to 4 pounds in one-ounce increments. Hardened 440C stainless steel internal components provide corrosion resistance and extended service life. Current flat triggers do not use the removable trigger shoes shown in some earlier product photographs.
CM7S Chassis and Adjustable Stock
The billet-aluminum CM7S chassis is finished in Cobalt Kinetics Green Cerakote and paired with a Coyote adjustable stock and cheek riser. The combination gives this 308 Overwatch Rifle its distinctive CM field appearance while providing broad adjustment for equipment, clothing and shooting position.
A full-length bottom ARCA rail supports compatible tripods and accessories, while M-LOK interfaces provide additional mounting space. The flared AICS-pattern magazine well and ambidextrous magazine release support efficient magazine changes from either side of the chassis.

308 Winchester Ammunition and Suppressor Use
This 1:8 twist 308 Overwatch Rifle is configured for conventional supersonic 308 Winchester ammunition. CM 308 Winchester firearms can also use appropriate 7.62×51 NATO ammunition. The 308 Winchester vs 7.62 NATO Guide explains the relationship between the two cartridges and why firearm-manufacturer guidance still matters.
The rifle’s manually operated action makes it well suited to an enclosed suppressor because suppressor backpressure does not affect firearm cycling. Review the 308 Suppressor Guide for CM’s recommendations across bolt-action, supersonic semi-automatic and subsonic semi-automatic platforms.
CM’s 300-grain subsonic ammunition is not compatible with this rifle. That projectile requires the 1:5 twist used in CM’s specialized subsonic configurations and should not be fired through this 1:8 twist barrel.

The rifle I’ve imagined for a long time has finally been created! Great chassis with the best options for shooting subs that can bag big game. Best all-in-all bolt package with every detail thought carefully through. It’s a must have in the safe and on the range.
