.458 SOCOM XL Magazine – Modified MDT Metal AICS Magazine

The 458 SOCOM XL Magazine from Chattahoochee Munitions starts with a genuine MDT metal AICS-pattern magazine and is purpose-modified for the extended cartridge overall lengths used in the SOCOM XL configuration. The magazine is used in complete CM7S .458 SOCOM bolt-action firearms and CM10 .458 SOCOM semi-automatic firearms.

The firearm chamber remains .458 SOCOM. SOCOM XL is not a different chamber or cartridge case. Instead, the SOCOM XL configuration provides additional usable cartridge length for compatible extra-long .458-caliber projectiles.

By modifying the MDT metal AICS-pattern magazine for this application, Chattahoochee Munitions provides the cartridge-length capability required to load compatible extra-long projectiles farther out of the case. This reduces how deeply those long projectiles must be seated and preserves additional internal case volume.

The chamber doesn’t get longer. The cartridge gets more room.
