The CM7S 22 ARC Pistol is Chattahoochee Munitions’ compact 12.5-inch bolt-action 22 ARC firearm. Built around the CM7S Remington 700-footprint action, this complete firearm combines a 12.5-inch Mos-Tek 416R stainless steel barrel, 1:8 twist, CM7 chassis, TriggerTech Primary trigger, and CM-vetted AICS magazine system.

Customers can configure this model as either a 22 ARC Pistol with a telescoping Tailhook brace or a Short Barreled Rifle (SBR) with a telescoping buttpad. Both configurations use the same CM7S action, 12.5-inch barrel, CM7 chassis, trigger, and magazine architecture.

Finished in Cobalt Kinetics Green Cerakote with an E100 Blackout Cerakote barrel and AI Dark Earth grip and magazine, this configuration brings the compact side of the CM7S platform to the Flight Deck 22 family.

Why Choose a 22 ARC Pistol?

The 22 ARC Pistol configuration gives shooters a compact way to use the cartridge without moving to a semi-automatic operating system. The CM7S is manually operated, eliminating the gas system and reciprocating operating components found in an AR-15 platform.

The 12.5-inch barrel substantially reduces overall firearm length compared with the 18-inch CM7S rifle while retaining the same action, trigger, chassis, and AICS-pattern magazine architecture. Customers who want the compact configuration with a brace can select the 22 ARC Pistol, while those who prefer a shoulder stock can select the SBR configuration subject to applicable federal, state, and local requirements.

The result is not simply a shortened version of the 18-inch rifle. The 12.5-inch CM7S provides a distinct compact configuration within the Flight Deck 22 product family while retaining the mechanical simplicity of a manually operated bolt action.

CM7S Action: Compact Platform, Full-Size Action

The CM7S action is the foundation of this 22 ARC Pistol and SBR platform. Chattahoochee Munitions designed the action around the Remington 700 footprint while incorporating the features we wanted in a modern production bolt-action firearm.

A three-lug bolt provides a short 60-degree throw. The one-piece .718-inch bolt body uses an M16-style extractor, while wire EDM-cut raceways provide controlled manufacturing tolerances and smooth bolt travel.

The action incorporates an integrated recoil lug, pinned 20 MOA Picatinny optics rail, .062-inch firing pin, large ejection port, side bolt-stop release, oversized bolt knob, spiral-fluted bolt, and tool-less fire-control removal.

A full PVD coating provides corrosion resistance and smooth operation. At approximately 25 ounces, the CM7S action provides the mechanical foundation for both the pistol and SBR configurations.

12.5-Inch Mos-Tek 22 ARC Barrel

At the center of the 22 ARC Pistol is a 12.5-inch Mos-Tek barrel manufactured from 416R stainless steel. The barrel uses 5R rifling and the 1:8 twist rate specified by Chattahoochee Munitions for our 22 ARC barrels.

The shorter barrel is what separates this configuration from the conventional 18-inch CM7S rifle. It reduces the firearm’s overall length and creates a compact host for shooters who prioritize maneuverability or intend to use the firearm with a suppressor.

The barrel uses a shouldered crown, 1/2×28 muzzle threads, and the Remage barrel-nut mounting system. E100 Blackout Cerakote provides the barrel finish and contrasts with the Cobalt Kinetics Green chassis and stock or brace assembly.

Suppressing the 12.5-Inch CM7S 22 ARC

The compact CM7S 22 ARC Pistol is suppressor ready with a 1/2×28 threaded muzzle. The 12.5-inch barrel also helps control the overall length of the firearm once a suppressor is installed.

Because the CM7S is manually operated, suppressor selection does not have to account for cycling a gas system. There is no gas block to adjust and no requirement to balance suppressor backpressure against reliable semi-automatic operation. That makes the 22 ARC Pistol a straightforward compact suppressor host within the Flight Deck 22 family.

For this reason, Chattahoochee Munitions generally favors a conventional enclosed suppressor for the CM7S. This differs from our approach to the semi-automatic CM15 22 ARC, where we generally prefer a flow-through suppressor to help manage backpressure and gas-system behavior.

Flight Deck 22 is built around the cartridge’s supersonic performance. A suppressor can substantially reduce muzzle blast, but it cannot eliminate the ballistic crack produced by a projectile traveling above the speed of sound.

The objective is therefore not to turn 22 ARC into a subsonic cartridge. The purpose of suppression on the CM7S is to reduce muzzle signature while retaining the velocity and trajectory characteristics that define 22 ARC.

TriggerTech Primary Trigger

The CM7S is equipped with a TriggerTech Remington 700 Primary trigger. Customers can select a flat or curved trigger blade.

The Primary uses TriggerTech’s Frictionless Release Technology and provides an externally adjustable pull-weight range of 1.5 to 4.0 pounds. This gives the compact CM7S the same crisp, adjustable trigger architecture used in our 18-inch CM7S 22 ARC rifles.

Some older CM product photography may show flat triggers equipped with trigger shoes. Current production triggers no longer include those shoes.

CM7 Chassis in Cobalt Kinetics Green

The CM7 chassis provides the structural foundation of the complete 22 ARC Pistol or SBR. Machined from billet aluminum and finished in Cobalt Kinetics Green Cerakote, the chassis integrates the CM7S action, magazine system, grip, support interfaces, and telescoping rear assembly.

The chassis incorporates a flared AICS-pattern magazine well, ambidextrous magazine release, full-length bottom ARCA rail, M-LOK compatibility, integrated QD sling sockets, and a modular stock interface. A large trigger guard provides additional clearance for gloved operation.

The pistol-grip interface accepts AR-15 grips that do not use an integrated dovetail. This firearm includes the CM Precision Vertical Crossover Grip in AI Dark Earth.

CM7 Chassis Features

  • Billet aluminum construction
  • Flared AICS-pattern magazine well
  • Ambidextrous magazine release
  • Full bottom ARCA rail
  • M-LOK compatible
  • Dual integrated QD sling sockets
  • Large trigger guard for gloved operation
  • Modular single-bolt rear adapter system
  • Accepts compatible AR-15 pistol grips

Pistol or SBR Configuration

Customers can order this 12.5-inch CM7S in one of two configurations. Selecting the 22 ARC Pistol configuration equips the firearm with a telescoping Tailhook brace and adjustable cheek riser.

The SBR configuration replaces the brace with a telescoping buttpad and adjustable cheek riser. Because the 12.5-inch firearm equipped with a shoulder stock is a Short Barreled Rifle, the SBR configuration is subject to applicable NFA transfer requirements and must be transferred through an appropriately licensed dealer.

Rear Configuration Options

  • Pistol: Telescoping Tailhook brace with adjustable cheek riser
  • SBR: Telescoping buttpad with adjustable cheek riser

CM-Vetted 22 ARC AICS Magazine System

The CM7S and CM15 use different magazine architectures. The semi-automatic CM15 uses an AR-15-pattern magazine, while the CM7S chassis is designed around the short-action AICS magazine pattern.

Each complete 22 ARC Pistol or SBR includes one 10-round 22 ARC AICS Magazine. CM has tested and selected this MDT polymer magazine for use with complete CM7S 22 ARC firearms equipped with the CM7 chassis.

The magazine allows a maximum cartridge overall length of 2.480 inches, providing additional cartridge-length capacity compared with the dimensional constraints of an AR-15 magazine.

CM’s magazine validation applies to the complete CM7S and CM7 chassis configuration. Although the magazine follows the short-action AICS pattern, magazine fit and feeding can vary with third-party chassis systems and bottom metal and are not guaranteed by Chattahoochee Munitions.

Part of the Flight Deck 22 Ecosystem

The 22 ARC Pistol represents the compact bolt-action side of Flight Deck 22. Alongside the 18-inch CM7S rifles and semi-automatic CM15 family, it gives customers another distinct way to use 22 ARC within a purpose-built CM platform.

Flight Deck 22 extends beyond complete firearms and includes CM7S barreled actions, a CM15 upper, and CM-vetted magazine solutions for both platforms. The product family is structured around defined configurations rather than treating 22 ARC as a single one-size-fits-all firearm.

22 ARC Pistol FAQ

Can the 12.5-inch CM7S be ordered as either a pistol or SBR?

Yes. The 22 ARC Pistol configuration uses a telescoping Tailhook brace with an adjustable cheek riser. The same 12.5-inch CM7S can instead be configured with a telescoping buttpad as an SBR, which is subject to applicable NFA transfer requirements.

Is the CM7S 22 ARC Pistol suppressor ready?

Yes. The 12.5-inch Mos-Tek barrel is threaded 1/2×28 for compatible muzzle devices and suppressor mounting systems.

What type of suppressor does CM recommend for the 12.5-inch CM7S?

Chattahoochee Munitions generally favors a conventional enclosed suppressor for the manually operated CM7S. The firearm does not depend on a gas system for cycling, so suppressor backpressure does not have to be balanced against semi-automatic operation. CM generally favors a flow-through suppressor for the semi-automatic CM15.

Does the 12.5-inch barrel change the 1:8 twist?

No. Chattahoochee Munitions specifies a 1:8 twist for our 22 ARC barrels. This 12.5-inch configuration uses a Mos-Tek 416R stainless steel barrel with 5R rifling and the same 1:8 twist specification.

Will a suppressor eliminate the supersonic crack of 22 ARC?

No. A suppressor reduces muzzle blast, but Flight Deck 22 is built around supersonic 22 ARC performance. A projectile traveling above the speed of sound produces a ballistic crack that a muzzle-mounted suppressor cannot eliminate.

What magazine does the CM7S 22 ARC use?

The complete firearm uses CM’s vetted 10-round MDT short-action AICS-pattern magazine. The magazine provides a maximum cartridge overall length of 2.480 inches and is tested by CM with the CM7S and CM7 chassis combination.

How is the 12.5-inch CM7S different from the 18-inch CM7S?

Both use the CM7S action, CM7 chassis architecture, TriggerTech Primary trigger, AICS-pattern magazine system, and 1:8-twist Mos-Tek barrel specifications. The primary difference is barrel length and resulting overall configuration. The 22 ARC Pistol uses the 12.5-inch barrel and brace configuration, while the 18-inch CM7S models are conventional rifles.

Does CM offer other 22 ARC products?

Yes. Flight Deck 22 includes 18-inch CM7S rifles, additional 12.5-inch CM7S configurations, CM7S barreled actions, CM15 semi-automatic rifles, a CM15 upper, and dedicated magazines for both platforms.
