A Compact Bolt-Action System for Vehicle-Based Utility

As a 300 Blackout Truck Gun, the CM7S combines compact dimensions with the mechanical simplicity of a manually operated action. With an adjustable overall length of approximately 20.50–28.00 inches, it occupies substantially less space than a conventional fixed-stock rifle.

The term “truck gun” describes the firearm’s compact dimensions and utility; it does not replace responsible storage or transportation practices. The short profile is useful for travel between hunting locations, working across rural property or carrying equipment in a vehicle where storage space is limited. The telescoping rear assembly can be shortened for storage and extended to establish the appropriate length of pull before firing.

The full PVD coating provides a hard, corrosion-resistant surface across the action and bolt while supporting smooth manual operation. The 8-inch barrel allows the 300 Blackout Truck Gun to prioritize minimum overall host length. Chattahoochee Munitions considers approximately 10–10.5 inches the optimal general-purpose range for its subsonic-first 300 Blackout philosophy, but this configuration reduces overall length by another two inches for storage and transportation.

The 5/8×24 muzzle thread accepts appropriately rated direct-thread suppressors and compatible muzzle devices. Any suppressor installed on the firearm must be rated by its manufacturer for 300 Blackout, the intended projectile and an 8-inch barrel.

Designed for Suppressed Subsonic 300 Blackout

Chattahoochee Munitions considers suppressed subsonic operation the defining use of 300 Blackout. In a 300 Blackout Truck Gun, the short barrel also helps control the overall dimensions of the system after a suppressor is installed, while the 1:5 twist provides the rotational speed needed to support long, heavy subsonic projectiles.

The manually operated bolt action keeps the breech closed until the shooter cycles it. This avoids the action noise, ejection-port noise and receiver gas associated with a cycling semi-automatic firearm. It also eliminates the gas block, gas tube, buffer and ammunition-pressure requirements involved in operating a semi-automatic system.

Subsonic and supersonic ammunition can both be used, but individual loads may produce different velocities, points of impact, stability and terminal results. Projectile stability should be confirmed before installing a suppressor and reevaluated whenever changing to a materially different load.

Pistol or Short-Barreled Rifle Configuration

The 300 Blackout Truck Gun can be ordered in one of two configurations:

The firearm includes the CM Precision Vertical Crossover Grip developed in collaboration with MK Machining. Its geometry combines the more vertical wrist position commonly preferred on compact chassis firearms with contours suitable for supported field positions.

Can the firearm remain stored in a vehicle?
