This CM10 is engineered for supersonic 308 Winchester and compatible 7.62×51 NATO ammunition. It will not reliably cycle subsonic ammunition. Shooters seeking a semi-automatic system developed specifically for heavy subsonic loads should select the CM10 308 Subsonic AR10.

Photographs may show optics, suppressors or other accessories that are not included unless specifically listed.

CM10 308 AR10 SBR

The CM10 308 AR10 SBR places the performance of 308 Winchester into a compact 12.5-inch large-frame semi-automatic system. Its billet receiver set, adjustable operating system and short free-floating handguard create a maneuverable firearm suited to field use, vehicle carry and suppressed or unsuppressed operation with supersonic ammunition.

The preferred configuration is the SBR with a B5 Systems Bravo stock and adjustable carbine receiver extension. A pistol configuration is also available with a stabilizing brace. Both configurations retain the same overall dimensions.

This firearm accepts conventional dual-feed LR/SR-pattern magazines. It is chambered for 308 Winchester and can also fire compatible 7.62×51 NATO ammunition. For a broader comparison of CM10 rifles, CM7S bolt-action firearms, ammunition and supporting components, explore District 308.

Supersonic Ammunition and Operating System

This version of the CM10 is configured around the pressure and dwell time produced by supersonic ammunition. The carbine-length gas system, adjustable gas block, adjustable AR10 buffer and low-mass bolt carrier group allow the operating system to be tuned for the selected ammunition and suppressor configuration.

Subsonic 308 Winchester produces substantially less operating pressure and will not reliably cycle this firearm. The separate CM10 SUBSONIC uses a different barrel, twist rate, handguard and operating configuration specifically developed for heavy subsonic ammunition.

CM10 Billet Receiver Set

  • SR25-pattern receiver architecture with DPMS high-profile component compatibility

Pistol Configuration

  • Adjustable pistol brace
  • Adjustable AR10 buffer system
  • Transferred and configured in accordance with applicable federal, state and local requirements

The SBR and pistol configurations have the same listed weight, overall-length range and length-of-pull range.

TriggerTech AR Duty Trigger

The CM10 308 AR10 SBR includes a TriggerTech AR Duty trigger with a choice of single-stage or two-stage operation. Its zero-creep release provides a clean, predictable break with minimal overtravel. Most customers select the single-stage trigger, although the two-stage option remains available for shooters who prefer a defined first stage.

CM10 Bolt Carrier Group

  • 9310 steel bolt
  • High-pressure tested bolt
  • Magnetic-particle-inspected bolt
  • Shot-peened bolt
  • Nitride-coated bolt, carrier and gas key
  • Hardened gas key
  • Grade 8 hardened gas-key fasteners
  • Properly staked gas key
  • Tool-steel extractor
  • T.E.A. extractor spring
  • Black extractor insert
  • Crane O-ring

Charging Handle and Gas System

  • CM10 Warhammer ambidextrous charging handle manufactured in collaboration with Breek Arms
  • 7075 aluminum charging-handle construction
  • Carbine-length melonite gas tube
  • Superlative Arms .750-inch adjustable gas block with melonite finish
  • Adjustable AR10 buffer

SLR ZRO Free-Floating Handguard

The 11.3-inch SLR ZRO handguard provides a rigid free-floating interface around the 12.5-inch barrel while leaving the muzzle accessible for a suppressor mount or muzzle device.

  • 11.3-inch handguard length
  • 7075 aluminum barrel nut
  • 6061 aluminum handguard
  • 1.4-inch internal diameter
  • Full-length Picatinny top rail
  • M-Lok attachment surfaces along the sides and bottom
  • Integrated QD sling sockets at the 3- and 9-o’clock positions
  • Free-floating design
  • Cobalt Kinetics Green Cerakote
  • B5 Systems rail covers in Coyote

12.5-Inch 308 Winchester Barrel

  • Chamber: 308 Winchester
  • Length: 12.5 inches
  • Material: CrMoV
  • Profile: Tactical Government
  • Finish: QPQ corrosion-resistant finish
  • Twist rate: 1:10
  • Gas-system length: Carbine
  • Gas-block journal: .750 inch
  • Muzzle thread: 5/8×24

Muzzle Device and Suppressor Use

The 5/8×24 muzzle thread supports common 308-caliber muzzle devices and suppressor mounts. Available mounting configurations may vary by current component availability and price. Contact CM before ordering if a particular suppressor interface is required.

An adjustable gas block and adjustable buffer allow the firearm to be tuned for suppressed supersonic operation. A flow-through suppressor can be appropriate for this supersonic CM10 because reducing excess backpressure and receiver gas can improve the shooting experience. This differs from the CM10 SUBSONIC, which needs the backpressure of an enclosed suppressor to cycle. See the 308 suppressor guide for a complete explanation.

Magazine

  • One 20-round Magpul PMAG 7.62 LR/SR GEN M3 in Coyote, where permitted
  • Conventional dual-feed LR/SR magazine pattern
  • Compatible lower-capacity LR/SR magazines may be used where required

Verified Dimensions

  • Weight: 7.5 lb without optic, suppressor or other accessories
  • Overall length: 29.25–32.5 inches
  • Length of pull: 11.75–15 inches

308 AR10 SBR FAQ

Will this CM10 cycle subsonic 308 ammunition?

No. This CM10 is configured for the operating pressure produced by supersonic 308 Winchester and 7.62×51 NATO ammunition. Choose the CM10 SUBSONIC when reliable semi-automatic operation with compatible heavy subsonic loads is required.

Can the CM10 fire both 308 Winchester and 7.62×51 NATO?

Yes. CM’s 308 Winchester firearms can use compatible 7.62×51 NATO ammunition. Always confirm that the ammunition is commercially manufactured, undamaged and appropriate for the firearm before use.

What is the difference between the SBR and pistol selections?

The preferred SBR uses a B5 Systems Bravo stock on an adjustable carbine receiver extension. The pistol version uses a stabilizing brace. The two selections retain the same listed weight and dimensional ranges, but the SBR requires the applicable NFA transfer and approval.

What magazine pattern does this firearm use?

The CM10 uses conventional dual-feed LR/SR-pattern 308 magazines. It does not use the AICS-pattern magazine found in the CM7S bolt-action platform.

Can this 308 AR10 SBR be suppressed?

Yes. The barrel has 5/8×24 muzzle threads, and its adjustable gas block and buffer allow the operating system to be tuned for suppressed supersonic ammunition. Follow the suppressor manufacturer’s barrel-length, caliber and mounting requirements.

Warranty

This complete firearm carries CM’s limited lifetime warranty for the original purchaser. Coverage applies to functional performance in the firearm’s original CM configuration and is subject to the complete warranty terms.
