This CM10 is engineered for supersonic 308 Winchester and compatible 7.62×51 NATO ammunition. It is not configured to cycle subsonic ammunition. Shooters seeking a semi-automatic system developed specifically for heavy subsonic loads should select the CM10 308 Subsonic AR10.
Photographs may show optics, suppressors or other accessories that are not included unless specifically listed.
CM10 308 Semi Auto Rifle
The CM10 308 Semi Auto Rifle combines a 16-inch 308 Winchester barrel with billet receivers, ambidextrous controls and an adjustable operating system. Finished in FDE Metallic Cerakote, it provides a full-power large-frame rifle in a balanced configuration for field, range and suppressed use.
CM equips this 308 Semi Auto Rifle with a rifle-length gas system rather than the mid-length system commonly found on 16-inch large-frame rifles. The longer gas system moderates the operating impulse and provides greater tuning flexibility, particularly when a suppressor is added later.
The rifle accepts conventional dual-feed LR/SR-pattern magazines. It is chambered for 308 Winchester and can also fire compatible 7.62×51 NATO ammunition. Compare CM10 rifles, CM7S bolt-action firearms, ammunition and supporting components in District 308.
Rifle-Length Gas in a 16-Inch Rifle
Many 16-inch large-frame rifles use a mid-length gas system. CM instead uses rifle-length gas to introduce operating pressure later in the firing cycle, moderate carrier speed and increase the useful adjustment range. The result is an operating system that can be tuned around the ammunition, suppressor and shooter.
This is particularly useful when a suppressor is added. An enclosed suppressor can increase backpressure, carrier velocity and gas at the receiver. Combining rifle-length gas with a Superlative Arms adjustable gas block and adjustable AR10 buffer gives the shooter greater control over those changes.
A flow-through suppressor can also work well with a supersonic 308 Semi Auto Rifle by reducing excess backpressure and receiver gas. For a comparison of suppressor types and CM10 gas-system considerations, see the 308 suppressor guide.
CM10 Billet Receiver Set
- SR25-pattern receiver architecture with DPMS high-profile component compatibility
- CNC-machined from 7075-T6 billet aluminum
- Lightened fire-control housing and magazine-well surfaces
- Lightening cuts on the upper receiver
- Upper receiver without a forward assist
- Machined and flared magazine well
- Integral trigger guard
- Ambidextrous fire and safe markings
- FDE Metallic Cerakote
Ambidextrous Lower Controls
- CM ambidextrous safety selector
- CM ambidextrous magazine release
- CM10 ambidextrous bolt release
- CM10 pivot and takedown pins
- B5 Systems pistol grip
Stock and Adjustable Buffer System
- B5 Systems Bravo stock
- Adjustable carbine receiver extension
- QD receiver end plate
- Adjustable AR10 buffer
- Receiver extension finished in FDE Metallic Cerakote
The adjustable buffer works with the adjustable gas block to control carrier speed and operating feel. This allows the complete operating system to be tuned rather than relying on the gas block alone.
TriggerTech AR Duty Trigger
The CM10 includes a TriggerTech AR Duty trigger with a choice of single-stage or two-stage operation. Its zero-creep release provides a clean, predictable break with minimal overtravel. Most customers select the single-stage trigger, although the two-stage option remains available for shooters who prefer a defined first stage.
CM10 Bolt Carrier Group
- 9310 steel bolt
- High-pressure tested bolt
- Magnetic-particle-inspected bolt
- Shot-peened bolt
- Nitride-coated bolt, carrier and gas key
- Hardened gas key
- Grade 8 hardened gas-key fasteners
- Properly staked gas key
- Tool-steel extractor
- T.E.A. extractor spring
- Black extractor insert
- Crane O-ring
Charging Handle and Adjustable Gas System

- Steel barrel nut
- Full-length Picatinny top rail
- M-Lok attachment surfaces along the sides and bottom
- Integrated QD sling sockets at the 3- and 9-o’clock positions
- FDE Metallic Cerakote
- B5 Systems rail covers
16-Inch 308 Winchester Barrel
- Chamber: 308 Winchester
- Length: 16 inches
- Material: 416R stainless steel
- Rifling: 5R
- Twist rate: 1:10
- Gas-system length: Rifle
- Gas-block journal: .750 inch
- Muzzle thread: 5/8×24

Muzzle Device and Suppressor Use
The 5/8×24 muzzle thread supports common 308-caliber muzzle devices, direct-thread suppressors and suppressor mounts. Available muzzle configurations can vary with component availability and price. Contact CM before ordering if a particular suppressor interface is required.
The rifle-length gas system, adjustable gas block and adjustable buffer make this rifle well suited to suppressed supersonic operation. A flow-through suppressor can reduce excess backpressure and receiver gas, while an enclosed suppressor may require additional gas and buffer adjustment. Always follow the suppressor manufacturer’s caliber, barrel-length and mounting requirements.
Magazine
- One 20-round Magpul PMAG 7.62 LR/SR GEN M3, where permitted
- Conventional dual-feed LR/SR magazine pattern
- Compatible lower-capacity LR/SR magazines may be used where required
Verified Dimensions

308 Semi Auto Rifle FAQ
Why does this 16-inch rifle use a rifle-length gas system?
CM uses rifle-length gas to introduce operating pressure later in the firing cycle, moderate carrier speed and provide greater tuning flexibility. This is especially useful when the rifle will be fired with a suppressor.
Will this rifle cycle subsonic 308 ammunition?
No. This CM10 is configured for the pressure and dwell time produced by supersonic ammunition. Choose the CM10 SUBSONIC when reliable semi-automatic operation with compatible heavy subsonic loads is required.
Can the CM10 fire both 308 Winchester and 7.62×51 NATO?
Yes. CM’s 308 Winchester firearms can use compatible 7.62×51 NATO ammunition. Always confirm that the ammunition is commercially manufactured, undamaged and appropriate for the firearm before use.
What magazine pattern does this rifle use?
The CM10 uses conventional dual-feed LR/SR-pattern 308 magazines. It does not use the AICS-pattern magazine found in the CM7S bolt-action platform.
Can this 308 Semi Auto Rifle be suppressed?
Yes. The barrel has 5/8×24 muzzle threads, and the rifle-length gas system, adjustable gas block and adjustable buffer provide the tuning range needed for suppressed supersonic operation. The required suppressor mount or muzzle device depends on the selected suppressor.
Warranty
This complete rifle carries CM’s limited lifetime warranty for the original purchaser. Coverage applies to functional performance in the rifle’s original CM configuration and is subject to the complete warranty terms.
