Chattahoochee Munitions manufactures the CM7S 22 ARC Hunting SBR, a complete factory 12.5-inch bolt action with WOOX walnut furniture, a 1:8 twist Mos-Tek 416R stainless barrel in E100 Blackout Cerakote and a TriggerTech Remington 700 Primary trigger. It weighs 7 lb 12 oz and ships with one 10-round 22 ARC AICS magazine.
This 22 ARC Hunting SBR pairs the CM7S action with a walnut Exactus stock, a walnut Furiosa forend and MDT bottom metal from WOOX, in place of the telescoping CM7 aluminum chassis used on the other CM7S 22 ARC models. With a 12.5-inch barrel and a shoulder stock, it is a short-barreled rifle regulated under the National Firearms Act, so it ships after an approved Form 4. Follow federal and state law.
Optics and suppressors shown in product photographs are not included in the purchase price.
Why a 22 ARC Hunting SBR
22 ARC fires long, high ballistic coefficient .224-inch bullets from 62 to 88 gr at supersonic velocity, with light recoil. In a compact walnut-stocked bolt action, the 22 ARC Hunting SBR suits coyotes, varmints and hogs, and deer where state law allows .224-inch centerfire cartridges, with an expanding hunting bullet and sensible range. The 12.5-inch barrel gives up some velocity to the 18-inch rifle in exchange for a shorter, handier package; see the calculated figures by barrel length in 22 ARC ballistics.
Read 22 ARC for coyotes and hogs and 22 ARC for deer for bullet choice, range and shot placement.
WOOX Walnut Stock, Forend and Bottom Metal
WOOX supplies the furniture; Chattahoochee Munitions manufactures the firearm. The walnut Exactus stock has an adjustable cheek riser and a buttpad adjustable for height and length of pull, plus a bottom Picatinny rail and a QD sling mount. The walnut Furiosa forend carries M-LOK slots at 3, 6 and 9 oโclock for a bipod or light.
MDT bottom metal provides the AICS-pattern magazine interface. Length of pull adjusts from 13.75 to 14.75 inches, a conventional hunting-stock fit that differs from the CM7 chassis models.
CM7S Action
The CM7S action is designed to Chattahoochee Munitions specifications on a Remington 700 footprint. Three locking lugs give a 60-degree bolt throw, and the one-piece spiral-fluted bolt has a .718-inch body, an M16-style extractor and a .062-inch firing pin. An integrated recoil lug, a pinned 20 MOA Picatinny rail, wire EDM raceways, a side bolt-stop release, an oversized bolt knob and tool-less fire-control removal complete the action, which has a full PVD coating.
12.5-inch Mos-Tek Barrel and 1:8 Twist
The 12.5-inch barrel is made by Mos-Tek from 416R stainless steel with 5R rifling and a 1:8 twist, finished in E100 Blackout Cerakote, with a shouldered crown, 1/2ร28 muzzle threads and Remage barrel-nut mounting. The 1:8 twist stabilizes 22 ARC bullets from 62 gr varmint loads through the 88 gr ELD Match. Read 22 ARC twist rate.
TriggerTech Remington 700 Primary
The TriggerTech Remington 700 Primary trigger comes in a flat or curved blade and adjusts externally from 1.5 to 4.0 lb, using TriggerTechโs Frictionless Release Technology. Older photographs may show flat triggers with trigger shoes; current flat triggers do not include them.
Magazine
The 22 ARC Hunting SBR ships with one 10-round MDT polymer 22 ARC AICS magazine, a short-action AICS-pattern magazine that feeds through the MDT bottom metal. The CM7S does not use the AR15-pattern magazine of the CM15.
Suppressing the CM7S
Because the CM7S is a manually operated bolt action, Chattahoochee Munitions recommends an enclosed suppressor rated for .224 caliber, mounted on the 1/2ร28 threads. Nothing cycles when it fires, so the action adds no noise and nothing depends on gas pressure. 22 ARC is supersonic, so a suppressor reduces muzzle blast but the bullet still cracks. Read the 22 ARC suppressor guide.

22 ARC Hunting SBR FAQ
Who makes the 22 ARC Hunting SBR?
Chattahoochee Munitions manufactures the CM7S 22 ARC Hunting SBR as a complete factory 12.5-inch bolt action with a 1:8 twist Mos-Tek 416R barrel. WOOX supplies the walnut stock, forend and bottom metal.
What twist rate does it use?
1:8, which stabilizes 22 ARC bullets from 62 gr through 88 gr. Every CM7S 22 ARC barrel is 1:8; the CM15 uses 1:7.
What does it weigh?
7 lb 12 oz for the complete firearm without optic or accessories.
What is the length of pull?
13.75 to 14.75 inches, adjustable at the buttpad, with an overall length of 31.75 to 32.50 inches.
What magazine does it use?
A 10-round short-action AICS-pattern magazine. One ships with the firearm; spares are the 22 ARC AICS magazine.
Which suppressor should I use?
An enclosed suppressor rated for .224 caliber with a 1/2ร28 mount. 22 ARC is supersonic, so the bullet still cracks.
Is it a pistol or an SBR?
It is a short-barreled rifle: a 12.5-inch barrel with a WOOX walnut shoulder stock, regulated under the National Firearms Act. Follow federal and state law.
Is 22 ARC good for deer?
Yes, with an expanding hunting bullet and sensible range, where state law allows .224-inch centerfire cartridges for deer. See 22 ARC for deer. 22 ARC is not a bear cartridge; for bear, look at 375 Raptor or 458 SOCOM XL.
How is it different from the CM7S chassis models?
The action, barrel, trigger and magazine are the same. The walnut model replaces the telescoping CM7 aluminum chassis with a WOOX walnut stock and forend and MDT bottom metal, for a conventional hunting-stock fit.
