CM10 458 SOCOM Rifle – 16″ Carbon Gray
A Different Kind of 458 SOCOM Rifle
The Chattahoochee Munitions CM10 458 SOCOM Rifle takes the 458 SOCOM concept beyond the traditional AR15 platform. Chambered in our new 458 SOCOM XL, the CM10 moves to a purpose-built large-frame AR architecture with AICS magazines, creating room for longer cartridges and heavy projectiles that are not constrained by AR15 magazine dimensions.
Rather than simply adapting traditional 458 SOCOM to another rifle, Chattahoochee Munitions developed 458 SOCOM XL around the additional cartridge-length capability of the CM10 platform.
The result is a specialized large-frame semi-automatic rifle featuring a 16-inch 1:10 twist barrel, center-feed AICS magazine system, adjustable gas block, adjustable buffer, and suppressor-ready operating system.
Finished in Carbon Gray Cerakote with Black B5 Systems furniture, this CM10 combines the unmistakable big-bore character of 458 SOCOM with an entirely different approach to cartridge length, projectile selection, feeding, and platform architecture.
Building a reliable semi-automatic platform around large-diameter, exceptionally heavy projectiles requires more than simply installing a different barrel into an existing rifle.
That is where the CM10 platform is different.
Chattahoochee Munitions developed the CM10 receiver system using our experience building specialized calibers across both AR and bolt-action platforms. Our experience includes 375 Raptor, 8.6 Blackout, 338 Spectre, 338 Federal, 400 Legend, 243 Winchester, 22-250 Remington, 7mm-08, and 308 Winchester.
The resulting CM10 is a sturdy, tightly fitted large-frame AR designed around dependable feeding, premium components, suppressor compatibility, and the ability to properly tune the operating system for specialized ammunition.
Carbon Gray Cerakote Configuration
This CM10 configuration pairs a Carbon Gray Cerakote receiver set, handguard, and buffer tube with Black B5 Systems furniture, creating a clean, understated appearance while retaining the purpose-built components and performance of the CM10 platform.
The Carbon Gray and Black configuration provides a neutral alternative to our Cobalt Kinetics Green configuration without changing the mechanical features that make the CM10 458 SOCOM Rifle unique.
AICS Magazine System
One of the defining characteristics of the CM10 458 SOCOM Rifle is its AICS magazine architecture.
Traditional 458 SOCOM was developed around the AR15 platform and its magazine dimensions. The CM10 takes a different approach. Its lower receiver is specifically machined to accept AICS-pattern magazines, allowing the 458 SOCOM XL cartridge to take advantage of the additional cartridge length available in a large-frame platform.
The AICS configuration also provides center feeding, an important consideration when feeding the large-diameter and heavy projectiles used in the 458 SOCOM XL.
A paddle-style magazine release is located directly in front of the trigger guard for convenient operation.
The rifle includes one 7-round MDT Metal 7.62 AICS Magazine in Black. The magazine has an integrated binder plate, and Chattahoochee Munitions adds an additional slim binder plate to help prevent cartridges from sliding forward.

What Is the Difference Between 458 SOCOM and 458 SOCOM XL?
Traditional 458 SOCOM was developed for the AR15 platform and therefore operates within the cartridge overall-length limitations imposed by the AR15 magazine.
458 SOCOM XL takes a different approach.
By utilizing the large-frame CM10 platform and AICS-pattern magazines, 458 SOCOM XL has additional cartridge-length capability that is not available within the traditional AR15 magazine envelope. This allows Chattahoochee Munitions to build the cartridge and rifle around longer overall cartridge lengths and the heavy projectiles central to the platform’s intended use.
The CM10 is therefore not simply an AR10 chambered for conventional 458 SOCOM. It is a purpose-built large-frame semi-automatic 458 SOCOM rifle capable of feeding 458 SOCOM XL.
