8.6 Blackout Semi Auto Rifle | CM10 16″

The CM10 8.6 Blackout Semi Auto Rifle combines the Chattahoochee Munitions billet large-frame platform with a 16-inch 8.6 Blackout barrel and an adjustable operating system. This configuration features FDE Metallic Cerakote receivers and handguard with Coyote B5 Systems furniture.

CM has worked with 8.6 Blackout since the cartridge’s early introduction, building both bolt-action and semi-automatic configurations. That experience informs the complete CM10 system: SR25-pattern magazine architecture, customized feed ramps for large .338-caliber projectiles, adjustable gas, adjustable buffer weight, and a choice of 1:3 or 1:5 barrel twist.

Rather than treating 8.6 Blackout as a simple barrel conversion, CM builds the rifle as a complete system in which feeding, gas delivery, reciprocating mass, barrel configuration, magazine selection and ammunition all work together.

CM10 Billet Receiver Set

The foundation of the 8.6 Blackout Semi Auto Rifle is the CM10 billet receiver set. The CM10 follows the SR25 magazine pattern while using DPMS High Profile specifications for barrel extension, bolt-carrier-group and barrel-nut compatibility.

  • CNC machined from 7075-T6 billet aluminum
  • SR25-pattern magazine architecture
  • DPMS High Profile component specifications
  • 16 TPI barrel-nut specification
  • Lightweight fire-control-group faces and magazine well
  • Weight-reduction cuts on upper receiver
  • No forward assist
  • Ambidextrous pictogram-style Fire/Safe engravings
  • Integral trigger guard
  • Machined magazine well with wide flare
  • FDE Metallic Cerakote

TriggerTech Duty Trigger Options

The CM10 uses the TriggerTech Duty trigger family. Customers can select from three trigger configurations to match their preferred trigger shape and operating style:

  • TriggerTech Duty single-stage straight trigger
  • TriggerTech Duty single-stage curved trigger
  • TriggerTech Duty two-stage straight trigger

CM10 Lower Components

  • CM ambidextrous safety
  • CM ambidextrous magazine release
  • CM10 pivot and takedown pins
  • TriggerTech Duty trigger — selectable configuration
  • CM10 ambidextrous bolt release
  • B5 Systems Coyote grip

Adjustable CM10 Operating System

Reliable semi-automatic operation with 8.6 Blackout involves more than barrel length alone. Ammunition, projectile weight, suppressor configuration, gas delivery and reciprocating mass can all affect how a large-frame semi-automatic firearm operates.

The CM10 8.6 Blackout Semi Auto Rifle provides adjustment on both sides of the operating system through a Superlative Arms .875 Adjustable Gas Block and an ODIN Works AR10 Adjustable Buffer.

This combination provides additional tuning capability around the ammunition and suppressed or unsuppressed configuration being used rather than relying on a fixed gas-and-buffer combination.

Receiver Extension and Stock

  • B5 Systems Bravo Stock — Coyote
  • CM Mil-Spec buffer tube — FDE Metallic Cerakote
  • QD endplate
  • ODIN Works AR10 Adjustable Buffer

CM10 Low-Mass Bolt Carrier Group

The CM10 upper uses a low-mass bolt carrier group as part of its adjustable operating system.

  • 9310 steel bolt
  • High-pressure tested bolt
  • Magnetic-particle-inspected bolt
  • Shot-peened bolt
  • Nitride-coated bolt
  • Nitride-coated carrier
  • Nitride-coated gas key
  • Hardened gas key
  • Grade 8 hardened gas-key fasteners
  • Staked gas key
  • Tool-steel extractor
  • T.E.A. extractor spring
  • Black extractor insert
  • Crane O-ring

The CM10 also incorporates customized feed ramps intended to support feeding of the large .338-caliber projectiles used by 8.6 Blackout.

16″ Mos-Tek 8.6 Blackout Barrel

The 16-inch barrel at the center of this 8.6 Blackout Semi Auto Rifle is produced in collaboration with Mos-Tek. CM offers the barrel with either a 1:3 or 1:5 twist to accommodate different projectile and ammunition configurations.

  • 16″ barrel length
  • 416R stainless steel
  • 5R rifling
  • Choice of 1:3 or 1:5 twist
  • M18x1.5 muzzle threads
  • .875 gas journal
  • Black Cerakote finish

CM offers both twist rates because projectile construction, length, weight, ammunition and velocity influence stabilization. Neither twist should be treated as universally correct for every 8.6 Blackout load.

Our 8.6 Blackout Subsonic Guide provides a more detailed explanation of CM’s experience with barrel length, projectile weight, twist rate and suppressed 8.6 Blackout configurations.

Why Choose the 16″ CM10?

The 16-inch CM10 provides a conventional rifle-length 8.6 Blackout Semi Auto Rifle without the additional considerations associated with configuring a short-barreled firearm.

CM also produces shorter CM10 configurations for customers prioritizing minimum overall system length, particularly when a suppressor will be added. The 16-inch version instead provides the full-length rifle option while retaining the same adjustable gas-and-buffer architecture and selectable 1:3 or 1:5 twist.

In the subsonic loads CM has evaluated, powder utilization has been effectively complete at approximately 12 to 12.5 inches. The 16-inch configuration should therefore be viewed as the conventional rifle-length member of the CM10 family rather than as a claim that the additional barrel length is inherently necessary for subsonic 8.6 Blackout performance.

CM10 Handguard and Upper Components

  • CM10 Warhammer ambidextrous charging handle — 7075 aluminum, developed in collaboration with Breek Arms
  • CM carbine-length gas tube — Melonite
  • Superlative Arms .875 Adjustable Gas Block — DLC Coyote
  • CM10 LWS 15″ M-LOK handguard — FDE Metallic Cerakote
  • 6061 aluminum handguard
  • Steel barrel nut
  • QD attachment at 3 and 9 o’clock positions
  • M-LOK attachment surfaces on sides and bottom
  • Full Picatinny top rail
  • B5 Systems Coyote rail covers

Compatible muzzle-device options are available for configuring the rifle around the customer’s selected suppressor mounting system.

SR25-Pattern Magazine System

The CM10 uses conventional SR25-pattern magazine architecture. This differs from the AICS center-feed architecture CM uses for its large-frame 375 Raptor and 458 SOCOM XL platforms.

Magazine selection remains part of the complete 8.6 Blackout system. CM provides a vetted magazine with the firearm and offers additional 20-round CM10 8.6 Blackout magazines for the platform.

This rifle includes one 10-round 7.62 PMAG in Coyote.

Suppressed 8.6 Blackout Semi Auto Rifle

The adjustable operating system is particularly useful when configuring a semi-automatic 8.6 Blackout firearm for suppressed use. The Superlative Arms adjustable gas block provides control over gas delivery while the ODIN Works adjustable buffer provides control over reciprocating mass.

Together, these components give the 8.6 Blackout Semi Auto Rifle two points of adjustment when tuning the system around the actual ammunition and suppressor combination being used.

Suppressor compatibility should always be verified for the specific muzzle device, suppressor, ammunition and barrel configuration.
