This CM10 is engineered for supersonic 308 Winchester and compatible 7.62×51 NATO ammunition. It is not configured to cycle subsonic ammunition. Shooters seeking a semi-automatic system developed specifically for heavy subsonic loads should select the CM10 308 Subsonic AR10.
Photographs may show optics, suppressors or other accessories that are not included unless specifically listed.
CM10 308 Long Range AR10
The CM10 308 Long Range AR10 combines an 18-inch 308 Winchester barrel with billet receivers, ambidextrous controls and an adjustable operating system. The additional barrel length supports velocity and downrange performance while retaining the fast follow-up capability of a large-frame semi-automatic rifle.
CM equips this 308 Long Range AR10 with rifle-length gas, a Superlative Arms adjustable gas block and an adjustable AR10 buffer. These components allow the operating system to be balanced around the ammunition, suppressor and shooter rather than relying on a fixed gas and buffer arrangement.
The rifle accepts conventional dual-feed LR/SR-pattern magazines. It is chambered for 308 Winchester and can also fire compatible 7.62×51 NATO ammunition. Compare CM10 rifles, CM7S bolt-action firearms, ammunition and supporting components in District 308.
An 18-Inch AR10 for Downrange Performance
The 18-inch barrel provides additional velocity potential over shorter CM10 configurations without taking the rifle into an unnecessarily long format. Greater velocity can improve trajectory and retained energy, although actual performance depends on the selected ammunition, environmental conditions and confirmed ballistic data.
A capable long-range configuration requires more than barrel length. The CM10 combines its 18-inch 5R barrel with a free-floating handguard, an adjustable trigger selection, a full-length optic rail and an operating system that can be tuned for suppressed or unsuppressed use.
The result is a 308 Long Range AR10 that supports deliberate downrange shooting while preserving the handling and follow-up capability of a semi-automatic platform.
Rifle-Length Gas and Suppressor Tuning
CM uses rifle-length gas to introduce operating pressure later in the firing cycle and moderate carrier speed. The adjustable gas block and adjustable buffer provide control over the gas entering the system and the resistance applied to the carrier.
This becomes especially useful when adding a suppressor. An enclosed suppressor can increase backpressure, carrier velocity and receiver gas. A flow-through suppressor can reduce those effects with supersonic ammunition. The CM10 operating system can be adjusted for either arrangement. See the 308 suppressor guide for a complete explanation.
CM10 Billet Receiver Set

The adjustable buffer works with the adjustable gas block to control carrier speed and operating feel. This allows the complete operating system to be tuned rather than relying on the gas block alone.
TriggerTech AR Duty Trigger
The CM10 includes a TriggerTech AR Duty trigger with a choice of single-stage or two-stage operation. Its zero-creep release provides a clean, predictable break with minimal overtravel. Most customers select the single-stage trigger, although the two-stage option remains available for shooters who prefer a defined first stage.
CM10 Bolt Carrier Group

18-Inch 308 Winchester Barrel
- Chamber: 308 Winchester
- Length: 18 inches
- Material: 416R stainless steel
- Rifling: 5R
- Twist rate: 1:10
- Gas-system length: Rifle
- Gas-block journal: .750 inch

Muzzle Device and Suppressor Use
The 5/8×24 muzzle thread supports common 308-caliber muzzle devices, direct-thread suppressors and suppressor mounts. Available muzzle configurations can vary with component availability and price. Contact CM before ordering if a particular suppressor interface is required.
The rifle-length gas system, adjustable gas block and adjustable buffer make this rifle well suited to suppressed supersonic operation. A flow-through suppressor can reduce excess backpressure and receiver gas, while an enclosed suppressor may require additional gas and buffer adjustment. Always follow the suppressor manufacturer’s caliber, barrel-length and mounting requirements.

308 Long Range AR10 FAQ
Why choose an 18-inch barrel for longer-range shooting?
The 18-inch barrel provides additional velocity potential over shorter CM10 configurations while remaining manageable for field and supported shooting. Actual velocity, trajectory and effective distance depend on the selected ammunition and environmental conditions.
What ammunition should I use for longer-range shooting?
Choose commercially manufactured 308 Winchester ammunition with a projectile appropriate for the intended distance and application. Test multiple loads, confirm accuracy and record verified velocity and trajectory data from the individual rifle.
Does the CM10 guarantee performance at a specific distance?
No fixed distance applies to every rifle, shooter or load. Downrange performance depends on ammunition, optic selection, environmental conditions, target size and shooter ability. Confirm the rifle’s trajectory and accuracy with the exact ammunition before relying on calculated data.
Will this rifle cycle subsonic 308 ammunition?
No. This CM10 is configured for the pressure and dwell time produced by supersonic ammunition. Choose the CM10 SUBSONIC when reliable semi-automatic operation with compatible heavy subsonic loads is required.
Can the CM10 fire both 308 Winchester and 7.62×51 NATO?
Yes. CM’s 308 Winchester firearms can use compatible 7.62×51 NATO ammunition. Ammunition should be selected according to its intended use, projectile construction and verified performance in the rifle.
What magazine pattern does this rifle use?
The CM10 uses conventional dual-feed LR/SR-pattern 308 magazines. It does not use the AICS-pattern magazine found in the CM7S bolt-action platform.
Can this 308 Long Range AR10 be suppressed?
Yes. The barrel has 5/8×24 muzzle threads, and the rifle-length gas system, adjustable gas block and adjustable buffer provide the tuning range needed for suppressed supersonic operation. Follow the suppressor manufacturer’s caliber, barrel-length and mounting requirements.
