CM7S 338 ARC Bolt Rifle – 16″ WOOX Walnut
The Chattahoochee Munitions 338 ARC Bolt Rifle combines the CM7S Remington 700-footprint action and 16-inch MÔS-Tek barrel with the walnut and aluminum WOOX Exactus and Furiosa system. It is a distinctly different interpretation of the CM7S 338 ARC platform, combining traditional walnut with modern adjustability, AICS magazine compatibility, M-LOK accessory mounting, and CM’s 1:5 twist barrel specification.
At the center of the rifle is the same CM7S action and 338 ARC barrel architecture used throughout Chattahoochee Munitions’ bolt-action family. The WOOX configuration changes the interface around that system, providing a walnut stock and forend for shooters who prefer the feel and appearance of wood without giving up the features expected from a modern bolt-action rifle.
The result is a 16-inch 338 ARC Bolt Rifle with a very different character from the billet-chassis CM7S configurations while retaining the same cartridge-specific engineering underneath.

CM 1:5 Twist for Heavy .338-Caliber Projectiles
Chattahoochee Munitions specifies a 1:5 twist throughout the CM7S 338 ARC family. This differs from the 1:8 twist commonly associated with the standardized cartridge specification and is an intentional CM configuration.
CM has years of experience manufacturing and testing firearms using heavy .338-caliber projectiles. In our testing and experience, the faster twist has performed particularly well with heavy projectiles such as the 307-grain Hornady Sub-X.
The WOOX 338 ARC Bolt Rifle therefore uses the same 1:5 barrel specification as the other CM7S configurations rather than changing the ballistic architecture because of the stock system.
TriggerTech Remington 700 Primary Trigger
The CM7S is equipped with a TriggerTech Remington 700 Primary trigger and is available with either a flat or curved trigger. Pull weight is adjustable from 1.5 to 4.0 pounds.
TriggerTech’s Frictionless Release Technology provides a crisp break with short over-travel, while CLKR Technology allows external pull-weight adjustment. Hardened 440C stainless-steel internal components provide corrosion resistance and durability.
Some product photography may show earlier flat-trigger configurations equipped with trigger shoes. Current production triggers do not use those shoes.
WOOX Exactus Stock and Furiosa Forend
The defining feature of this 338 ARC Bolt Rifle is its WOOX furniture. Developed around a combination of walnut and modern structural components, the system provides the appearance and feel of traditional wood furniture with adjustable and modular features.
WOOX Exactus Stock
- Walnut construction
- Adjustable cheek riser
- Adjustable buttpad for height
- Adjustable length of pull
- Bottom Picatinny rail
- QD sling mount
WOOX Furiosa Forend
- Walnut construction
- M-LOK at the 3, 6, and 9 o’clock positions
WOOX Monocore
- M5 bottom-metal configuration
- AICS magazine compatible
The combination gives the WOOX 338 ARC Bolt Rifle a substantially different interface from the CM7 billet-chassis versions while maintaining modern accessory mounting and detachable-magazine capability.
338 ARC Magazine
The rifle includes one 10-round MDT polymer AICS-pattern magazine. Chattahoochee Munitions has tested this magazine with 338 ARC as part of the CM7S system rather than leaving magazine compatibility for the customer to determine after purchase.
Additional 338 ARC Bolt Action Magazines are available separately.
A Modern 338 ARC Bolt Rifle with Walnut Furniture
The WOOX configuration is intended for shooters who want something different from a conventional aluminum precision chassis. Walnut gives the rifle a more traditional appearance, while the adjustable cheek riser, adjustable buttpad, M-LOK mounting positions, QD sling interface, and detachable AICS-pattern magazine preserve modern functionality.
That combination is particularly appropriate for a 338 ARC Bolt Rifle intended for field use. The rifle retains the adjustability and accessory compatibility of a modern platform without abandoning the feel and appearance of walnut.
Subsonic and Supersonic 338 ARC
The CM7S platform can use appropriate subsonic or supersonic 338 ARC ammunition. Heavy .338-caliber subsonic capability is an important part of CM’s interest in the cartridge and one reason Chattahoochee Munitions specifies a 1:5 twist for its CM7S rifles.
A bolt-action firearm also does not depend on ammunition-generated gas to cycle a semi-automatic operating system. This makes the CM7S particularly flexible when working with different ammunition configurations and heavy subsonic projectiles.

Why a 16″ 338 ARC Bolt Rifle?
The 16-inch 338 ARC Bolt Rifle provides a conventional rifle-length configuration without requiring the additional regulatory considerations associated with an SBR. It also complements the larger dimensions of the WOOX stock system and creates a traditional rifle format around the compact 338 ARC cartridge.
In Chattahoochee Munitions’ testing and loading experience with the configurations evaluated, much of the useful powder utilization occurs around the 12-inch range. CM therefore does not use a 16-inch barrel on the premise that 338 ARC requires a long barrel. Instead, this configuration provides a conventional rifle format for shooters who prefer it.

338 ARC Bolt Rifle FAQ
What makes the WOOX CM7S different from the other CM7S 338 ARC rifles?
The WOOX 338 ARC Bolt Rifle replaces the CM7 billet chassis and telescoping stock system with a WOOX Exactus walnut stock, Furiosa walnut forend, and AICS-compatible Monocore system. The CM7S action and CM 338 ARC barrel architecture remain at the center of the rifle.
What twist rate does the CM7S WOOX use?
The rifle uses CM’s 1:5 twist specification, the same twist used throughout the CM7S 338 ARC family.
What barrel is used on the WOOX 338 ARC rifle?
The rifle uses a 16-inch MÔS-Tek 416R stainless-steel barrel with 5R rifling, a 1:5 twist, 5/8×24 muzzle threads, and E100 Blackout Cerakote.
Does the WOOX configuration use AICS magazines?
Yes. The WOOX Monocore is AICS magazine compatible, and Chattahoochee Munitions supplies the rifle with a tested 10-round MDT polymer AICS-pattern magazine.
Is the WOOX stock adjustable?
Yes. The WOOX Exactus stock includes an adjustable cheek riser and an adjustable buttpad that provides both height and length-of-pull adjustment.
Can the CM7S use subsonic and supersonic 338 ARC ammunition?
Yes. The CM7S can use appropriate subsonic or supersonic 338 ARC ammunition, and CM’s 1:5 twist specification reflects our experience with heavy .338-caliber projectiles.
