The CM7S 338 ARC Bolt Action Pistol combines the compact dimensions of a 12.5-inch barrel with the strength and precision of the Chattahoochee Munitions CM7S bolt-action platform. Built around a Remington 700-footprint action, MÔS-Tek 1:5 twist barrel, TriggerTech Primary trigger, and CM7 billet chassis, this configuration is designed as a compact .338-caliber system for hunting, suppressed shooting, and general field use.
The 12.5-inch configuration is particularly well matched to the way we use 338 ARC. In Chattahoochee Munitions testing and experience, powder utilization in the loads we have evaluated occurs largely around the 12-inch barrel-length range. The 12.5-inch barrel therefore provides an excellent balance between ballistic efficiency and compact overall length.

Why Chattahoochee Munitions Uses a 1:5 Twist
The standardized 338 ARC specification provides a 1:8 twist as a practical baseline. Chattahoochee Munitions takes a different approach with the CM7S. Based on our experience manufacturing and testing .338-caliber subsonic systems, including extensive work with 8.6 Blackout, we specify a faster 1:5 twist in our bolt-action 338 ARC barrels.
In our testing, the faster twist has performed particularly well with heavy .338-caliber projectiles such as the Hornady 307-grain Sub-X. This is a deliberate CM specification based on how we configure and use the platform rather than simply duplicating the standardized 1:8 twist.
TriggerTech Remington 700 Primary Trigger
The 338 ARC Bolt Action Pistol is equipped with a TriggerTech Remington 700 Primary trigger and is available with either a flat or curved trigger shoe. Pull weight is externally adjustable from approximately 1.5 to 4.0 pounds.
TriggerTech’s Frictionless Release Technology provides a crisp break and short overtravel, while hardened 440C stainless-steel internal components provide corrosion resistance and durability. CLKR Technology allows pull-weight adjustment in defined increments.

Pistol or SBR Configuration

Pistol configuration: Telescoping Tailhook brace with adjustable cheek riser.
SBR configuration: Telescoping buttpad with adjustable cheek riser. Short Barreled Rifle configurations are subject to applicable federal, state, and local requirements and require transfer through an appropriately licensed dealer.
CM Precision Vertical Crossover Grip
The chassis is fitted with the CM Precision Vertical Crossover Grip, developed in collaboration with MK Machining. The grip provides a near-vertical geometry suited to the compact CM7S chassis while retaining characteristics useful in field shooting positions.
10-Round AICS-Pattern Magazine
Each 338 ARC Bolt Action Pistol includes a 10-round MDT polymer 6 ARC AICS-pattern magazine. Chattahoochee Munitions has tested this magazine architecture with 22 ARC, 6 ARC, and 338 ARC in our bolt-action systems.
Why a 12.5″ 338 ARC?
Barrel length is especially important when configuring a compact subsonic-oriented firearm. Based on Chattahoochee Munitions testing of the 338 ARC loads we have evaluated, powder utilization occurs largely around the 12-inch range. Extending the barrel substantially beyond that point does not necessarily produce a proportional increase in performance.
That makes the 12.5-inch CM7S a particularly useful configuration. It retains enough barrel length to make efficient use of the cartridge while producing a significantly shorter firearm than the 16-inch version.
For customers who want to avoid the additional regulatory requirements associated with an SBR, the pistol configuration provides another way to take advantage of the compact 12.5-inch system.
Subsonic and Supersonic Capability
Although CM places particular emphasis on subsonic applications, the 338 ARC Bolt Action Pistol is not limited to subsonic ammunition. The cartridge can support both subsonic and supersonic loads, allowing the same platform to serve different applications.
The combination of a compact bolt-action host, heavy .338-caliber projectile capability, and fast 1:5 twist makes this configuration particularly relevant to shooters interested in suppressed and subsonic performance.
