300 BLK Bolt Action Pistol | CM7S 8″ 1:5 Twist

The CM7S 300 BLK Bolt Action Pistol is a complete Chattahoochee Munitions firearm designed around compact dimensions, suppressed subsonic performance and the mechanical simplicity of a manually operated action. Its 8-inch 1:5 twist Mos-Tek barrel, telescoping Tailhook brace and adjustable cheek riser create a short bolt-action pistol that can be configured around the shooter rather than relying on the fixed dimensions of a conventional rifle stock.

This product can also be ordered as a registered short-barreled rifle with a telescoping butt pad. The pistol and SBR use the same CM7S action, Mos-Tek barrel, CM7 chassis, TriggerTech trigger and CM-vetted magazine, but the selected rear assembly determines the firearm’s classification.

Visit Sector 300 to compare CM7S complete firearms, CM15 semi-automatic platforms, barreled actions, upper receivers and CM-vetted magazines across the Chattahoochee Munitions 300 Blackout ecosystem.

Why Choose a 300 BLK Bolt Action Pistol?

A 300 BLK Bolt Action Pistol combines the short-barrel advantages of the cartridge with a closed, manually operated action. The firearm does not require a gas port, gas block, gas tube, buffer or recoil spring to function. Subsonic and supersonic ammunition can therefore be selected without also having to generate enough pressure to cycle a semi-automatic action.

The pistol configuration uses a telescoping Tailhook brace rather than a shoulder stock. Its adjustable cheek riser establishes a repeatable optic alignment, while the telescoping mechanism allows the overall length to be reduced for storage and extended to suit the shooter’s position.

Customers who prefer a shoulder stock may select the SBR configuration. Chattahoochee Munitions manufactures and transfers each firearm in the configuration selected at purchase; the pistol and SBR designations are not interchangeable descriptions.

CM7S Remington 700-Footprint Action

The action at the center of the 300 BLK Bolt Action Pistol is manufactured by Chattahoochee Munitions. Its Remington 700 short-action footprint supports established trigger and chassis patterns while incorporating the proprietary features of the CM7S platform.

  • Remington 700 short-action footprint
  • Three-lug bolt with a 60-degree lift
  • One-piece .718″-diameter bolt body
  • M16-style extractor
  • Wire EDM-cut raceways for consistent tolerances and smooth bolt travel
  • Integrated recoil lug
  • Pinned 20 MOA Picatinny optic rail
  • Large ejection port
  • Lightened steel action body
  • .062″ firing pin suitable for small-rifle-primer brass
  • Tool-less fire-control removal
  • Remington 700-pattern trigger compatibility
  • 1-1/16″-16 barrel thread
  • Side bolt-stop release
  • Oversized bolt knob
  • Spiral-fluted bolt
  • Full PVD action and bolt coating
  • Approximate bare action weight of 25 ounces

The full PVD coating provides a hard, corrosion-resistant surface across the action and bolt while supporting smooth manual operation. The three-lug architecture produces a 60-degree bolt lift, providing additional clearance around a mounted optic compared with a traditional two-lug action with a 90-degree lift.

8″ Mos-Tek 300 Blackout Barrel

The 300 BLK Bolt Action Pistol uses an 8-inch barrel manufactured by Mos-Tek. Chattahoochee Munitions specifies a 1:5 twist throughout the CM7S 300 Blackout family. The fast twist supports the stabilization requirements of the long, heavy projectiles commonly used in subsonic ammunition.

  • 8″ barrel length
  • 416R stainless-steel construction
  • 5R rifling
  • 1:5 twist rate
  • Shouldered crown
  • 5/8×24 muzzle threads
  • Remage barrel interface
  • E100 Blackout Cerakote finish

The 8-inch barrel is intended for customers who place the highest priority on minimum overall host length. Chattahoochee Munitions considers approximately 10–10.5 inches the optimal general-purpose range for its subsonic-first 300 Blackout philosophy, but the 8-inch configuration reduces overall length by another two inches.

The 5/8×24 muzzle thread accepts compatible muzzle devices and appropriately rated direct-thread suppressors. Suppressor compatibility must be confirmed using the suppressor manufacturer’s caliber, projectile and minimum-barrel-length requirements.

Designed for Suppressed Subsonic Use

Chattahoochee Munitions considers suppressed subsonic operation the defining use of 300 Blackout. The compact barrel helps control the overall length of the 300 BLK Bolt Action Pistol after a suppressor is installed, while the 1:5 twist provides the rotational speed needed to support long, heavy subsonic projectiles.

The manually operated action keeps the breech closed until the shooter cycles the bolt. This avoids the action noise, ejection-port noise and receiver gas associated with a cycling semi-automatic firearm. It also means that switching between subsonic loads does not create a gas-system cycling problem.

Different ammunition can still produce different velocities, points of impact, projectile stability and terminal results. Shooters should confirm stability before installing a suppressor and repeat that evaluation whenever changing to a materially different load.

For detailed information about barrel length, twist rate, suppression and ammunition selection, read the 300 Blackout Subsonic Guide.

TriggerTech Remington 700 Primary Trigger

The firearm includes a TriggerTech Remington 700 Primary trigger with a customer-selectable flat or curved trigger lever. Current triggers do not use the removable trigger shoes shown in some legacy product photographs.

  • Choice of flat or curved trigger lever
  • Externally adjustable pull weight from 1.5–4.0 pounds
  • Adjustment in approximately one-ounce increments
  • TriggerTech Frictionless Release Technology
  • Short overtravel
  • Hardened 440C stainless-steel internal components
  • Drop-in Remington 700-pattern compatibility

CM7 Chassis in Cobalt Kinetics Green

The CM7 chassis is machined from billet aluminum and finished in Cobalt Kinetics Green Cerakote. It provides the structural foundation of the 300 BLK Bolt Action Pistol while integrating the magazine well, grip interface, accessory mounting surfaces and telescoping rear assembly.

  • Flared magazine well for compatible AICS-pattern magazines
  • Ambidextrous magazine release
  • Compatibility with AR-15-pattern grips without an integrated dovetail
  • Large trigger guard for gloved operation
  • Machined billet-aluminum construction
  • Modular single-bolt rear-adapter system
  • M-LOK-compatible forend
  • Dual integrated QD sling sockets
  • Full-length bottom ARCA rail

Selectable Pistol or SBR Configuration

The customer selects one of two rear configurations when ordering:

  • Pistol: Telescoping Tailhook brace with an adjustable cheek riser
  • SBR: Telescoping butt pad with an adjustable cheek riser

The 300 BLK Bolt Action Pistol configuration uses the Tailhook brace and is transferred as a pistol. Selecting the butt pad creates a short-barreled rifle subject to the applicable National Firearms Act transfer process.

Customers considering the SBR option should review the Chattahoochee Munitions NFA firearm information and verify that the selected configuration is lawful in their jurisdiction.

CM Precision Vertical Crossover Grip

The firearm includes the CM Precision Vertical Crossover Grip developed in collaboration with MK Machining. Its geometry combines the more vertical wrist position commonly preferred on compact chassis firearms with contours suitable for supported field positions.

CM-Vetted 300 Blackout Magazine

Magazine selection is especially important with 300 Blackout. CM supplies the firearm with a magazine vetted for feeding in the CM7S platform rather than treating every generic AICS-pattern magazine as interchangeable.

Additional magazines are available through the CM-vetted 300 Blackout bolt-action magazine page.

300 BLK Bolt Action Pistol FAQ

What is the difference between the pistol and SBR configurations?

The pistol configuration uses a telescoping Tailhook brace. The SBR configuration uses a telescoping butt pad and requires the applicable National Firearms Act transfer process.

Is a suppressor included?

No suppressor is included unless it is expressly identified as part of the selected product option. The barrel is threaded 5/8×24 for compatible muzzle devices and appropriately rated suppressors.

Why does the 8″ barrel use a 1:5 twist?

The 1:5 twist provides increased rotational speed for the long, heavy projectiles commonly used in subsonic 300 Blackout ammunition. CM uses a 1:5 twist throughout the CM7S 300 Blackout family.

Can the pistol use both subsonic and supersonic ammunition?

Yes. The manually operated action does not depend on ammunition pressure to cycle. Projectile stability, velocity, point of impact and terminal performance can still vary among individual loads.

Does the CM7S require gas adjustment?

No. The manually operated CM7S does not use a gas block, gas tube, buffer or semi-automatic cycling system.

Is the 8″ version CM’s optimal general-purpose barrel length?

No. CM considers approximately 10–10.5 inches its optimal general-purpose range for 300 Blackout. The 8-inch configuration exists for customers who place a higher priority on minimum firearm and suppressor-host length.

Chattahoochee Munitions knocked it out of the park with this pistol. Craftsmanship is exceptional and everything seems rock solid. Can’t wait to hit the range with this beauty !!

  2. Rated 5 out of 5

    tyelliott (verified owner) –

Absolutely love mine, first time out I got a good 100yrd zero and followed that up with back to back 5 shot groups both hovering right around .75moa (one just under and one right at .75in) shooting off a bipod and rear bag with no cool down time. Fit and finish is amazing. The gun feels great in hand and I absolutely love the grip. Can’t wait to try some different loads and really see its potential, it will make a great compact hunting rig.

  3. Rated 5 out of 5

    Corbin Elliott (verified owner) –

Absolutely love the 8in CM7S. It feels amazing in hand and shoots just as well. The gun produced sub-moa groups it’s very first time out. I absolutely love the grip. Fit and finish is great. And the action feels amazing after a short break in and a touch of lubricant following a cleaning.
My only minor gripe is that the mlok section on top of the forend could be a touch longer. There’s only enough room for a tiny 3 slot picatinny section and it doesn’t feel adequate to mount a high dollar clip-on on that tiny 1.5in section. I wish there was enough room to atleast mount a 2.5in 5 slot section. But that’s a minor gripe as I’m sure most people won’t be running clip-ons.
