The CM7S action is designed for hunting use. It can also be used for competition. It is a steel action with a Remington 700 style footprint. The CM7S has a number of features that factory actions lack.

TriggerTech Rem 700 Primary Trigger (Flat or Curved) 

The Rem 700 Primary is the ideal upgrade to improve accuracy and precision on any Remington 700 model rifle. Featuring TriggerTech’s Frictionless Release Technology™, this drop-in trigger provides a true zero-creep break, extremely short over-travel and offers outstanding reliability, even in the harshest environments. Utilizing CLKR Technology™, the pull weight is quickly and confidently adjusted from 1.5 – 4.0 lbs in 1oz increments from an externally accessible set screw. Due to the exceptionally crisp break,  most shooters report the pull weights feeling ~0.5lbs lighter than a friction based trigger of the same measured pull weight. Frictionless Release Technology™, along with hardened 440C stainless steel internal components ensure corrosion resistance and an extended service life. As Frictionless Release Technology™ does not rely on coating, polishing or lubricating the key engagement surfaces, trigger pulls will be more consistent from shot to shot and after thousands of shots more than you ever thought possible.

PLACID OTB Titanium Over-the-Barrel Suppressor System for CM7S

The PLACID OTB is a purpose-built titanium over-the-barrel suppressor system engineered specifically for the Chattahoochee Munitions CM7S bolt-action series of firearms and actions.

Unlike a conventional suppressor that places its entire length and volume forward of the muzzle, the PLACID OTB uses a large-volume reflex suppressor design that extends rearward over the barrel. A specially designed 3D-printed titanium baffle stack vents expanding gases backward into the reflex tube, making the substantial over-the-barrel volume an active part of the suppression system.

The result is not simply a suppressor attached to a CM7S. The PLACID OTB is an integrated suppression system engineered around the rifle itself.

Large-Volume Reflex Suppressor Design

The PLACID OTB begins with a proprietary CM7S barrel nut featuring 1.375×24 HUB outer threads. A 12.5-inch titanium outer tube mounts to the barrel nut and extends forward over the barrel, creating the large reflex chamber that defines the OTB system.

Instead of allowing the area surrounding the barrel to serve merely as unused internal space, the PLACID OTB is designed to actively utilize this volume.

Expanding gases are directed rearward from the baffle stack and into the large over-the-barrel reflex chamber, allowing the 12.5-inch tube surrounding the barrel to function as an integral part of the suppressor’s gas-management system.

This architecture provides substantial internal expansion volume without requiring that the entire suppressor extend forward beyond the muzzle.

3D-Printed Titanium Baffle Stack with Rearward Venting

At the heart of the PLACID OTB is a 6-inch 3D-printed titanium baffle stack specifically engineered for the system.

The baffle assembly indexes against a precision taper mount located at the barrel muzzle threads, providing precise alignment with the bore. External 1.375×24 HUB threads on the baffle assembly interface directly with the titanium outer tube.

More importantly, the baffle stack incorporates rearward gas venting designed to direct expanding gases back into the reflex chamber surrounding the barrel.

This allows the PLACID OTB to combine the gas-management characteristics of its 3D-printed baffle geometry with the substantial expansion volume provided by the over-the-barrel tube.

Rather than treating the reflex section simply as additional suppressor volume, the baffle stack and reflex chamber are designed to function together as a complete suppression system.

Integrated Dual-Interface Architecture

The PLACID OTB uses purpose-designed interfaces at both ends of the system.

At the rear, the 12.5-inch titanium reflex tube mounts to the proprietary CM7S barrel nut through 1.375×24 HUB threads.

At the muzzle, the 3D-printed titanium baffle stack indexes against the barrel’s taper mount while its external HUB threads engage the outer tube.

This architecture integrates the barrel, barrel nut, reflex tube, and baffle assembly into a suppression system specifically designed around the CM7S bolt-action platform.

All-Titanium Construction

The PLACID OTB is constructed entirely from titanium, including its outer tube and 3D-printed baffle assembly.

Despite an overall system length of 18.25 inches, the complete PLACID OTB weighs only 1 lb. 7.6 oz.

Titanium construction provides an excellent combination of low weight, strength, corrosion resistance, and temperature resistance while allowing the PLACID OTB to incorporate the substantial internal volume of a large reflex suppressor without excessive system weight.

Purpose-Built for the CM7S Bolt-Action Platform

The PLACID OTB was developed specifically around the Chattahoochee Munitions CM7S series of bolt-action firearms and actions.

Rather than designing a conventional suppressor and adapting it to the rifle afterward, the PLACID OTB takes advantage of the CM7S architecture to move a significant portion of the suppression system rearward over the barrel.

The combination of a 12.5-inch over-the-barrel reflex tube, rearward-venting 3D-printed titanium baffle stack, taper-indexed muzzle interface, and HUB-threaded barrel nut creates an integrated system in which the rifle and suppressor were designed to work together.
