- +

Chattahoochee Munitions manufactures this 375 Raptor hunting rifle, the CM7S, a complete factory 16-inch bolt action finished in Black Tungsten Cerakote with black furniture. It pairs a Mos-Tek 416R stainless barrel with a 1:8 twist, a TriggerTech trigger, and the CM7 billet aluminum chassis.

The 375 Raptor, designed by Arne Brennan, is used for whitetail deer, feral hogs, and black bear. See every configuration in the Raptor Paddock, and read 375 Raptor hunting for guidance by game and distance.

A 375 Raptor Hunting Rifle for Every Distance

This 375 Raptor hunting rifle covers two kinds of hunting with one barrel. For longer or uncertain shots, the 190 gr Maker T-REX supersonic load carries 2,069 ft-lb at 100 yards and more than 1,300 ft-lb at 300 yards. For quiet, suppressed shots at known distances, the 400 gr Maker REX subsonic load carries about 842 ft-lb at 100 yards. Both are lead-free, solid copper, expanding bullets. Choose the load by the longest shot you expect.

CM7S Action and Trigger

The CM7S action is steel with a Remington 700 footprint and a full PVD coating. It has three locking lugs, a 60-degree throw, and a one-piece spiral-fluted bolt with a .718-inch body, an M16-style extractor, and a .062-inch firing pin, with the standard .308 bolt face the 375 Raptor uses. Wire EDM raceways, an integrated .300-inch recoil lug, a side-release bolt stop, an oversized bolt knob, and a pinned 20 MOA Picatinny rail complete the action of this 375 Raptor Hunting Rifle. The TriggerTech Remington 700 Primary trigger comes flat or curved, adjusts from 1.5 to 4.0 lb, and removes without tools.

Barrel and 1:8 Twist

The 16-inch barrel is made by Mos-Tek from 416R stainless steel with 5R rifling and a 1:8 twist, finished in E100 Blackout Cerakote, with a shouldered crown, 11/16×24 muzzle threads, and Remage barrel-nut mounting. The 1:8 twist gives the long 400 gr subsonic bullet a wide stability margin over Maker Bullets’ 1:11 guidance and stabilizes the 190 gr supersonic bullet easily. Read 375 Raptor twist rate and 375 Raptor barrel length for the details.

Ammunition and Magazine

From the 16-inch barrel, the Chattahoochee Munitions 190 gr Maker T-REX supersonic load averages 2,450 fps with 2,533 ft-lb at the muzzle and more than 1,300 ft-lb at 300 yards. The 400 gr Maker REX subsonic load carries about 842 ft-lb at 100 yards for suppressed shooting. Use the bolt action loads: 400 gr subsonic for bolt action and 190 gr supersonic for bolt action. Bolt action and semi-auto 375 Raptor ammunition are loaded separately. Full tables are in 375 Raptor ballistics.

One 10-round Magpul PMAG 7.62 AC AICS-pattern magazine is included, and spares are available as CM7S 375 Raptor magazines.

Suppressing the CM7S

Because the CM7S is a manually operated bolt action, Chattahoochee Munitions recommends an enclosed suppressor with both subsonic and supersonic ammunition, such as the enclosed PLACID 375. Confirm any suppressor is rated for .375 caliber and your barrel length. The 375 Raptor suppressor guide covers the choice in detail.

Black Tungsten Cerakote Finish

This CM7S is finished in Black Tungsten Cerakote with a black grip, cheek riser, and forend grip covers. Mechanical specifications match the Cobalt Kinetics Green Cerakote and FDE Metallic Cerakote variations.
