8.6 BLK AR10 Rifle | CM10 16″
The CM10 8.6 BLK AR10 Rifle is Chattahoochee Munitions’ full-length large-frame semi-automatic 8.6 Blackout platform. This 16-inch configuration combines CM’s billet receiver set with a Mos-Tek barrel, adjustable gas system, adjustable buffer, customized feed ramps and a selectable TriggerTech Duty trigger.
CM has been building 8.6 Blackout firearms since the cartridge’s early introduction, across both semi-automatic and bolt-action platforms. That experience has shaped the CM10 as a complete 8.6 Blackout system rather than simply a large-frame rifle fitted with an 8.6 Blackout barrel.
This version combines Black/Tungsten Cerakote with Black B5 Systems furniture for a subdued finish across the rifle.
CM10 Billet Receiver Set
The receiver set forms the foundation of the 8.6 BLK AR10 Rifle. Both receivers are CNC machined from 7075-T6 billet aluminum. The CM10 uses SR25-pattern magazine architecture with DPMS High Profile specifications for component compatibility.

Adjustable Gas and Buffer System
8.6 Blackout can place different demands on a semi-automatic operating system depending on ammunition, projectile weight and suppressor configuration. CM therefore gives the CM10 8.6 BLK AR10 Rifle adjustment on both sides of the operating system.
A Superlative Arms .875 Adjustable Gas Block provides control over gas delivery, while the ODIN Works AR10 Adjustable Buffer provides adjustment of reciprocating mass.
Together, these components provide additional tuning capability around the ammunition and suppressed or unsuppressed configuration being used rather than relying on one fixed operating setup.

CM also incorporates customized feed ramps intended to support feeding of the large .338-caliber projectiles used by 8.6 Blackout. Feeding, magazine selection and operating-system adjustment are treated as parts of the complete CM10 configuration.
16″ Mos-Tek 8.6 Blackout Barrel
The 16-inch barrel in the 8.6 BLK AR10 Rifle is produced in collaboration with Mos-Tek and is available from CM with either a 1:3 or 1:5 twist.
- 16″ barrel length
- 416R stainless steel
- E100 Blackout Cerakote
- Choice of 1:3 or 1:5 twist
- Shouldered crown
- M18x1.5 muzzle threads
- .875 gas journal
CM offers both twist rates because projectile construction, length, weight, ammunition and velocity influence stabilization. Neither twist should be considered universally correct for every 8.6 Blackout load.
For a deeper explanation of CM’s experience with projectile weight, twist rate, barrel length and suppressed configurations, read the 8.6 Blackout Subsonic Guide.
Why Choose the 16″ CM10?
The 16-inch 8.6 BLK AR10 Rifle provides a conventional rifle-length CM10 configuration while retaining the adjustable operating architecture used throughout the 8.6 Blackout CM10 family.
CM also builds shorter CM10 configurations for customers prioritizing minimum overall system length, particularly when adding a suppressor. The 16-inch rifle instead provides the full-length option without the additional considerations associated with a short-barreled firearm.
In the subsonic loads CM has evaluated, powder utilization has been effectively complete at approximately 12 to 12.5 inches. The 16-inch barrel should therefore be understood as the conventional rifle-length configuration rather than as a claim that additional barrel length is inherently required for subsonic 8.6 Blackout performance.
CM10 Upper and Handguard
- CM10 ambidextrous charging handle — 7075 aluminum
- CM carbine-length gas tube — Melonite
- Superlative Arms .875 Adjustable Gas Block — Melonite

The barrel uses M18x1.5 muzzle threads, allowing the rifle to be configured with an appropriate compatible muzzle device or suppressor mounting system.
SR25-Pattern Magazine Architecture
The CM10 uses conventional SR25-pattern magazine architecture rather than the AICS center-feed architecture CM uses for its large-frame 375 Raptor and 458 SOCOM XL platforms.
This rifle includes one 20-round 7.62 PMAG in Black. CM also offers additional vetted 20-round CM10 8.6 Blackout magazines for the platform.
Suppressed 8.6 BLK AR10 Rifle
The adjustable operating system is particularly useful when the CM10 is configured for suppressed 8.6 Blackout. Adding a suppressor changes the operating environment of a semi-automatic firearm, and ammunition characteristics can further affect the amount of adjustment required.
The Superlative Arms adjustable gas block and ODIN Works adjustable buffer give the 8.6 BLK AR10 Rifle two points of adjustment for tuning around the actual ammunition and suppressor combination being used.
Suppressor compatibility should always be verified for the specific muzzle device, suppressor, ammunition and barrel configuration.
