A rifle with a barrel shorter than 16 inches is a short-barreled rifle under the National Firearms Act, and the 12.5-inch length is where the 375 Raptor is made to work. CM7S Action and Trigger
The CM7S action is steel with a Remington 700 footprint and a full PVD coating. It has three locking lugs, a 60-degree throw, and a one-piece spiral-fluted bolt with a .718-inch body, an M16-style extractor, and a .062-inch firing pin, with the standard .308 bolt face the 375 Raptor uses. From the 12.5-inch barrel, the Chattahoochee Munitions 400 gr Maker REX subsonic load averages about 1,016 fps, roughly 917 ft-lb at the muzzle and about 842 ft-lb at 100 yards. Because the CM7S is a manually operated bolt action, Chattahoochee Munitions recommends an enclosed suppressor, such as the enclosed PLACID 375.
