The CM15 22 ARC Coyote Rifle combines the velocity and low-recoil characteristics of 22 ARC with a compact 16-inch semi-automatic AR-15 platform. This configuration pairs a fluted 416R stainless steel barrel with CM billet receivers, a rifle-length gas system, adjustable gas block, adjustable buffer system, TriggerTech AR15 Duty trigger, and a CM-vetted 22 ARC AR15 magazine.

For hunters covering ground, moving between calling locations, or operating a rifle around field equipment, the 16-inch configuration offers reduced overall length compared with the 18-inch and 20-inch CM15 rifles. At the same time, it retains the controls, magazine architecture, accessory compatibility, and rapid follow-up capability of the AR-15 platform.

This 22 ARC Coyote Rifle is finished in FDE Metallic Cerakote with Coyote furniture. It is a complete CM-manufactured firearm configured around the 16-inch end of the CM15 22 ARC rifle family.

Why a 16-Inch 22 ARC Coyote Rifle?

22 ARC provides an interesting combination for coyote hunting: a small-caliber, high-velocity cartridge designed for the AR-15 platform with access to modern .224-caliber projectiles. The CM15 adds semi-automatic operation and a compact 16-inch barrel configuration for hunters who prioritize handling and overall length.

The 16-inch 22 ARC Coyote Rifle is particularly well suited to hunters who expect to move between stands or use accessories such as suppressors, bipods, night-vision equipment, or thermal optics. Starting with a shorter rifle can help control overall system length as equipment is added.

The CM15 uses a rifle-length gas system with a Superlative Arms adjustable gas block and ODIN Works adjustable heavy buffer. This gives the operating system multiple points of adjustment rather than relying on a fixed gas-and-buffer configuration.

CM15 Billet Upper and Lower Receivers

The foundation of the CM15 22 ARC Coyote Rifle is Chattahoochee Munitions’ billet AR-15 receiver set. The upper and lower receivers are CNC machined from 7075-T6 billet aluminum and manufactured around standard AR-15 component dimensions.

The lower receiver incorporates an integral trigger guard, flared machined magazine well, lightweight machining features, and ambidextrous controls. This configuration is finished in FDE Metallic Cerakote.

TriggerTech AR15 Duty Trigger

The 22 ARC Coyote Rifle uses a TriggerTech AR15 Duty trigger with a 3.5-pound total pull weight. Customers can select a straight, curved, or two-stage straight trigger configuration.

A predictable trigger is particularly useful when a hunting rifle may be fired from field positions, shooting sticks, a tripod, or another supported position. The TriggerTech Duty is also the current trigger system used throughout the CM15 22 ARC family.

Lower Receiver Components

  • Trigger: TriggerTech AR15 Duty, 3.5 lb. total pull weight
  • Trigger options: Straight, curved, or two-stage straight
  • Safety: CM ambidextrous safety

Adjustable Receiver Extension System

The rifle uses a B5 Systems Bravo stock in Coyote with a CM buffer tube finished in FDE Metallic Cerakote. A QD end plate provides an additional sling attachment location.

An ODIN Works Adjustable Heavy Buffer provides an additional operating-system adjustment. Together with the adjustable gas block, the buffer allows the reciprocating system to be balanced around the rifle’s configuration.

Receiver Extension Components

16-Inch 1:7 Twist 22 ARC Barrel

The barrel is central to this 22 ARC Coyote Rifle. The CM15 uses a 16-inch fluted 416R stainless steel barrel finished in Black Cerakote.

CM15 22 ARC barrels use a 1:7 twist rate. The 16-inch barrel also incorporates a shouldered crown, .750-inch gas journal, 1/2×28 muzzle threads, and a rifle-length gas system.

The shorter barrel reduces the rifle’s overall dimensions compared with CM’s 18-inch and 20-inch CM15 configurations. That can become particularly valuable on a hunting rifle once a suppressor or other muzzle-mounted equipment is added.

16-Inch Barrel Specifications

  • Chambering: 22 ARC
  • Length: 16″
  • Material: 416R stainless steel
  • Profile: Fluted
  • Finish: Black Cerakote
  • Twist: 1:7
  • Crown: Shouldered
  • Muzzle threads: 1/2×28
  • Gas journal: .750″
  • Gas system: Rifle length

Rifle-Length Adjustable Gas System

The 22 ARC Coyote Rifle uses a rifle-length gas system with a Superlative Arms .750 Adjustable Gas Block. On this FDE Metallic configuration, the gas block has a DLC Coyote finish.

The adjustable gas block works with the ODIN Works adjustable heavy buffer to provide multiple points of adjustment within the semi-automatic operating system. This becomes particularly useful when ammunition, muzzle-device, or suppressor configurations change.

Suppressing a 22 ARC Coyote Rifle

The 16-inch CM15 is suppressor ready with 1/2×28 muzzle threads. A suppressor can be particularly useful on a hunting rifle where reducing muzzle blast is desirable, but the semi-automatic operating system also makes suppressor backpressure an important consideration.

For the CM15, Chattahoochee Munitions generally favors a flow-through suppressor. The lower added backpressure of this type of suppressor can make it easier to maintain a balanced gas system while reducing unnecessary gas returned through the action.

The Superlative Arms adjustable gas block and ODIN Works adjustable heavy buffer provide additional tuning capability for suppressed operation.

Flight Deck 22 is built around supersonic 22 ARC performance. Suppression can substantially reduce muzzle blast, but it cannot eliminate the ballistic crack generated by a projectile traveling above the speed of sound.

Configured for Field Equipment

A modern 22 ARC Coyote Rifle may carry considerably more equipment than a traditional hunting rifle. Depending on the hunter and application, that can include a conventional riflescope, thermal optic, night-vision equipment, suppressor, bipod, tripod interface, weapon light, or other accessories.

The CM15’s full-length Picatinny top rail and M-LOK handguard provide mounting space for those configurations. The 16-inch barrel also helps control total rifle length when a suppressor is installed.

The objective is not to dictate one coyote-hunting setup, but to provide a complete 22 ARC AR-15 platform that can accommodate the equipment appropriate to the customer’s hunting environment.

CM15 15-Inch M-LOK Handguard

A 15-inch CM15 lightweight handguard surrounds the barrel and gas system. It is machined from 6061 aluminum and finished in FDE Metallic Cerakote.

The handguard uses a steel barrel nut and dual-taper attachment system. A full-length Picatinny top rail provides optics and accessory mounting space, while M-LOK interfaces are positioned along the sides and bottom.

Handguard Features

  • Length: 15″
  • Material: 6061 aluminum
  • Attachment: Dual-taper system
  • Barrel nut: Steel
  • Top rail: Full-length Picatinny
  • Accessory interface: M-LOK
  • QD sockets: 3 and 9 o’clock positions
  • Finish: FDE Metallic Cerakote
  • Rail covers: B5 Systems, Coyote

Ambidextrous Charging Handle and Controls

The CM15 upper receiver includes a CM15 ambidextrous charging handle manufactured from 7075 aluminum, along with a dust cover and forward assist.

The charging handle complements the ambidextrous safety, magazine release, and bolt release incorporated into the CM15 lower receiver.

22 ARC AR15 Magazine

Each complete 22 ARC Coyote Rifle includes one 10-round CM-vetted DURAMAG in Coyote. The CM15 uses an AR-15 magazine architecture rather than the AICS-pattern magazine used by the CM7S bolt-action platform.

Additional magazines are available through the CM 22 ARC AR15 Magazine product page.

CM’s validation applies to the magazine as used with our CM15 22 ARC firearms. Function with every possible combination of third-party receivers, uppers, barrels, or other components is not guaranteed by Chattahoochee Munitions.

Muzzle Device Options

Product photography may show this rifle with a Yankee Hill 3 Port Brake configured as a suppressor host. Available muzzle-device configurations can vary and may include an A2-style device or compatible suppressor-mount options.

Customers requiring a different muzzle device can contact Chattahoochee Munitions regarding availability and any applicable price adjustment.

22 ARC Coyote Rifle FAQ

Why use 22 ARC for coyote hunting?

22 ARC combines high-velocity .224-caliber performance with compatibility with the AR-15 platform. That makes it particularly interesting for hunters who want a low-recoil semi-automatic rifle capable of fast follow-up shots while retaining the external-ballistic advantages associated with modern 22 ARC ammunition.

Why choose a 16-inch 22 ARC Coyote Rifle?

The 16-inch CM15 reduces overall rifle length compared with CM’s 18-inch and 20-inch configurations. The shorter starting length can be useful when the rifle will also carry a suppressor or other field equipment.

What twist rate does the 16-inch CM15 use?

The CM15 uses a 1:7 twist 22 ARC barrel. All CM15 AR-platform 22 ARC barrels use the 1:7 twist specification.

What gas system does the 16-inch CM15 use?

The 16-inch CM15 uses a rifle-length gas system with a Superlative Arms .750 adjustable gas block and ODIN Works adjustable heavy buffer.

Can the CM15 be configured for thermal or night hunting?

The CM15 provides a full-length Picatinny top rail and M-LOK accessory interfaces that can accommodate a variety of customer-selected optics and accessories. The appropriate configuration depends on the hunter’s equipment, environment, and intended use.

Is the 22 ARC Coyote Rifle suppressor ready?

Yes. The barrel uses 1/2×28 muzzle threads. Chattahoochee Munitions generally favors a flow-through suppressor for the semi-automatic CM15 because managing added backpressure is an important part of maintaining a balanced gas-operated system.

Does a suppressor make 22 ARC quiet?

A suppressor can significantly reduce muzzle blast, but Flight Deck 22 is built around supersonic 22 ARC performance. The ballistic crack produced by a supersonic projectile remains.

What trigger comes with the rifle?

The rifle uses a TriggerTech AR15 Duty trigger with a 3.5-pound total pull weight. Straight, curved, and two-stage straight configurations are available.

What magazine does the CM15 use?

The rifle includes one 10-round CM-vetted DURAMAG. Additional 22 ARC AR15 magazines are available separately.
