The CM10 8.6 BLK Pistol takes the Chattahoochee Munitions large-frame semi-automatic platform to its most compact 8.6 Blackout configuration. Built around an 8-inch barrel, adjustable gas and buffer systems, and a short SLR handguard, this version prioritizes minimum host length for customers building a compact suppressed system. It is finished in Cobalt Kinetics Green Cerakote with Coyote B5 Systems furniture.
Chattahoochee Munitions has been building 8.6 Blackout firearms since the cartridge’s early introduction across both semi-automatic and bolt-action platforms. That experience has shaped the CM10 around the complete operating system: SR25-pattern magazines, customized feed ramps for large .338-caliber projectiles, adjustable gas, adjustable buffer weight, and selectable 1:3 or 1:5 twist.
The 8-inch barrel serves a different purpose from CM’s 12.5-inch configuration. In subsonic loads CM has evaluated, powder utilization has been effectively complete at approximately 12 to 12.5 inches. The 8-inch 8.6 BLK Pistol deliberately gives up that additional barrel length in exchange for a substantially shorter host, which can be especially useful when suppressor length is added to the overall system.
This firearm is offered in pistol configuration and may also be configured as an SBR where applicable. Receiver-extension components vary with the selected configuration.

Adjustable Gas and Buffer System
The short-barreled semi-automatic configuration makes operating-system adjustability particularly useful. Ammunition, projectile weight and suppressor configuration can change how the firearm operates, so the CM10 provides adjustment through both gas delivery and reciprocating mass.
A Superlative Arms .875 Adjustable Gas Block provides control over gas delivery, while the ODIN Works AR10 Adjustable Buffer allows buffer weight to be adjusted.
These two tuning points allow the CM10 to be configured around the ammunition and suppressor combination actually being used rather than relying on one fixed operating setup.

CM offers both 1:3 and 1:5 twist options because projectile construction, length, weight and velocity all influence stabilization. CM’s longer-barrel testing has provided useful guidance for selecting twist rates, but those observations should not automatically be transferred to an 8-inch barrel because the shorter barrel changes the projectile’s velocity environment.

Because the SD handguard extends beyond the muzzle, suppressor diameter, length and mounting method must be compatible with the recessed configuration. The standard 7.25-inch ZRO handguard is the appropriate choice when suppressor geometry does not permit recessing the suppressor inside the handguard.

The M18x1.5 muzzle threads allow the firearm to be configured with an appropriate compatible muzzle device or suppressor mounting system.
Why Choose an 8″ 8.6 BLK Pistol?
The primary advantage of the 8-inch 8.6 BLK Pistol is minimum host length. Adding a suppressor can substantially increase the overall length of a firearm, so reducing barrel and handguard length provides a way to offset some of that added length.
There is a deliberate tradeoff. CM’s testing of subsonic ammunition has shown effective powder utilization around 12 to 12.5 inches in the loads evaluated. The 8-inch configuration is therefore not presented as CM’s subsonic barrel-length sweet spot. It is the compact alternative for customers who place greater priority on minimum overall suppressed length.
The adjustable gas block and adjustable buffer provide two tuning points for configuring the short semi-automatic platform around the selected ammunition and suppressor.
SR25-Pattern Magazine Architecture
The CM10 uses conventional SR25-pattern magazine architecture rather than the AICS center-feed architecture used by CM’s large-frame 375 Raptor and 458 SOCOM XL platforms.
This firearm includes one 20-round 7.62 PMAG in Coyote. Additional vetted 20-round CM10 8.6 Blackout magazines are available separately.
